and it's nearly impossible to pick a winner.

2. My dear Brigid!
Now, to be fair, I have to say that I haven't seen Blazing Saddles...

But Young Frankenstein ranks up there as one of the funniest movies evah!

Enjoy!

:hi:

3. Blazing Saddles
I like Young Frankenstein, but I think hewing so closely to the Frankenstein myth limits it. Blazing Saddles is more anarchic, and funnier for it.

6. I adore both, but I LOVE Marty Feldman.
I just realized that there are a bunch of old Marty Feldman Shows on Youtube. I am a happy camper.

That said, both are just wonderful.

On a side note, it was suppose to be wacko as in crazy, not the town in Texas, that still irritates me.

11. Tough choice but I'll pick Young Frankenstein
Just one reason: The end scene in Blazing Saddles is pretty lame but it's so good overall it's one of my favorites of all time.

Love Gene Wilder, and the late, great Peter Boyle.

ETA: And Madeline Kahn - how could I forget her? One of my favorite funny ladies!

23. Blazing Saddles is good from start to finish
Edited on Mon Oct-19-09 12:55 PM by realisticphish
YF is kind of weak towards the end. Still brilliant, but not as good.

Though Marty Feldman gives it MAJOR bonus points

Blazing Saddles also has the benefit of the shock value. That movie would NEVER EVER get made today. At least not in the form it was then.
