How much caffeine do you consume?
Caffeine is my suspected enemy. I'd lke to know if you consume more than I do. I drink no more
than one diet coke + maybe 32oz iced tea some days. Is that a lot? What say you?

1. A staggering amount
Well about 6-8 cups of strong coffee a day anyway..

One coke or a tea is not too much IMO..

2. My dear donheld...
I drink just one pretty good-sized mug of coffee every day, usually after breakfast.

It's probably about 10-12 ounces...

I don't think you drink a lot...

That doesn't sound like a lot to me...

:hi:

3. Far too often lately
I wake up after only about 3 hours sleep and can't go back to sleep. I get really anxious
about it. I drive public transportation so it's not good for employment either.

P.S. a side note just a little bragging. I've lost 50 pounds whoohoo.

4. Congrats on the weight loss!
You might want to check with your doctor about your sleep issues.

That sucks...

Please take care, sweetie...

11. Two cups of (kinda strong) coffee in the morning
A can of (regular) Coke several times a week--too often, if I'm honest with myself, but because of the sugar, not the caffeine--and an occasional cup of tea at night.

I don't think you're drinking too much caffeine. Do you mean you think it's causing your insomnia? I would doubt it, unless you drink all that iced tea right before bed. Do you drink any juice? The natural sugars could jack you up.

12. I drink a whole lot of coffee.
at least 2 or 3 double cups in the morning and then again at night. I also drink several cups of green tea during the day.

13. None
I used to drink a whole pot of regular a day but had to switch to decaf after some nasty stuff went down in my life. I now drink a pot of decaf a day. Same health effects without the shakes.

14. let's see
I have a glass of diet green tea with breakfast, then 2 cups of coffee, then a 18 oz diet coke/pepsi for lunch and a 12 oz pepsi max around 3. So I would imagine that is a pretty good amount.

16. More than I should. Coffee in the morning, sometimes a second or third time during the day
And in addition, I might grab a diet Coke along the way. I'm a type A personality...the concern that is probably at the very bottom of mu list of concerns is how much caffeine I'm consuming. As a matter of fact, reading this post made me want a cup of coffee.

17. One cup of coffee in the morning during the week. None on the weekend.
I don't drink soda, though occasionally I will have a glass of iced tea (unsweetened).

18. Most days, none.
Sometimes, very rarely, I will drink half a cup of my husband's coffee, or have a little Pepsi or iced tea. 98% of the time I'm drinking something, it's water.

32 oz of anything that isn't water is too much, especially if you suspect a caffeine issue, and especially if it's sweetened with anything at all. And what is one diet coke? The machine where I work sells 20 oz. bottles.

:hi:

22. Why?!? What did you hear!?!
:freak:

No, I drink probably four or five cups of tea a day but cut myself off by 3pm so it doesn't effect my sleeping.

You're not drinking very much caffeine at all and you can switch to caffeine free diet coke if you want. If you get exhausted and have serious withdrawal pains when you stop, then you were probably drinking too much.

Don't drink coffee or soda. If I do drink soda, it's usually Sprite. Sometimes I will have a caffeinated Orange soda. But rarely.

26. A cup or two of coffee a day, or

a Diet Pepsi or two, or a couple of glasses of iced tea. For me, the less caffeine I take in, the better off I am.

About 10 years ago I discovered that for me, caffeine causes depression. I discovered this when I had to stop drinking coffee temporarily because of a bladder infection. When I quit caffeine, the lift in my spirits was remarkable. When I returned to guzzling coffee, I grew depressed again.

It helps me concentrate and multitask, compensating for the executive dysfunction (ADD-like) element of my Asperger's Syndrome, so one could call it self-medication!

28. Maybe it explains the sleeplessness. Ease off gradually, or
you'll have terrific headaches from caffiene withdrawal. Do you normal AM cup, but slowly cut down the afternoon tea (maybe a cup per week) till you get to where you can sleep. Congrats on the weight loss!
