It doesn't have to be "beautiful," but it does need to produce a few shivers up your spine.

I nominate And You Still Are the Dead by In Slaughter Natives, who is kind enough to offer an MP3 on the official site:

7. Thanks for that!
Never heard of them before, but it looks/sounds great. I have this one in my mind, but I can't find it, since I don't remember the movie it was used with, darn ... :hi:

I couldn't make it all the way through the one with the 911 call...I don't remember the title.

EDIT: It just came up on shuffle. 'At The Base Of The Giant's Throat'. That's a rough couple of minutes.

11. I believe it was used in the Shining.

I've loved this piece since I was a teenager in the 1970s. I used to fantasize about using it as the score for a horror film of sorts. It always raised the hair on the back of my neck. The whole thing is eery and weird in the Shakespearean sense.

PS: The third movement is as scary as the first:

22. Kind of a weird story that goes along with that song..
I worked for many, many years in the strip club industry and at one club in particular there was a stripper that used that song.

The entire show was hauntingly beautiful and the men would sit there mesmerized. Honestly, I'll never forget it, you can find things of beauty everywhere.

And it doesn't hurt if you're a huge Nick Cave fan either.

28. Pink Floyd: "Empty Spaces"
The Wall is frequently spooky, but the backwards voice buried in the opening of this song gave/gives me chills. There's something frightening about that voice, which appears to be saying something, but is unintelligible.

(Even after I learned what's being said.)
