He was always insulting the crew yelling at them when they would do stupid stuff. I think he's the only one on that ship that was sane.

3. Isnt that odd

The only character to make any damn sense was the hologram? I swear those people on that ship made some of the dumbest decisions. I'm rewatching star trek seasons over again and I'm in the middle of voyager. Some of these episodes I cant hardly stomach. I sometimes picture Captain Sisko at Janeways command dealing with the same issues. Janeway took too much crap from the lame ass delta quadrant species.

4. Without a doubt, Doctor was the best character in the series.
I'd probably say he was the best doctor in all of Star Trek.

You can't deny Seven of Nine was hotter than hell though. I also always figured Ensign Harry Kim was a closet pervert.

7. Yeah 7 or 9 was hot
But she wasnt much of a character. They just wanted to put some hottie in a bodysuit and emphasize her boobs to draw ratings. I liked Torres also cause she yells at the crew to and shes a klingon.

10. Argh! I couldn't stand Torres...
... she was Kira Nerys with ridges. That whole "tough girl exterior covering a sensitive interior" type character gets soooo old after awhile.

11. WHAT?! 7 of 9 was a great character. So was Janeway. STV was a really underrated show, imho.
It sucked in the beginning, but has become a favorite of mine.

I hated it as the "replacement" of TNG, but looking back, especially after "Enterprise" (which was drivel), Voyager was a fine show, and got way better as it went on. I miss it. I still wish they'd have given that cast a chance at a feature film.

12. I do rate it higher than Enterprise
Edited on Sun Oct-04-09 03:54 AM by rcrush
It did have some good episodes but I found it very hard to give a crap about most of the species in the delta quadrant they ran into. The Kazon were so damn lame. Also they made the Borg way too weak. Voyager should have been assimilated so many damn times.

And the only good Q episode was Deathwish I hated the other two.

15. Oh yeah, TNG and Voyager destroyed the Borg concept. And that was a shame.
I'm not saying Voyager was flawless by any means, but at least there was a futuristic vessel and an element of the unknown and a spirit of exporation. And the good eps were more frequent than the bad eps. Yeah, except for species 81729 (or whatever that was), they were pretty lame. They did a terrible job with Q as well, which I think TNG did too, after Q's introduction. Although "All Good Things" brought back the Q menace full force. I don't know the Deathwish episode. I'll have to find it online. But overall, especially after picking up 7 of 9, I thought Voyager became a pretty tight sci-fi series worthy of the Trek label.

Enterprise, well, yuk.

16. Star Trek really crapped out for good enemies after the creation of the Borg.
The Kazon were ridiculous, the Founders were a generic concept, and the Suliban and Xindi never really clicked as a series enemy. If there isn't a strong concept (the Borg's assimilation) or culture (the Klingons) they never work out.

You are exactly right about Voyager making the Borg too weak. They would have assimilated Voyager a million times over if they would have been as strong as they were in ST:TNG. I thought Species 8472 sucked too.

19. The Kazon were a poor mans Klingon.
I didnt like those enemies in Enterprise that had such an effect on humanity that they are NEVER mentioned once in the next 200 years. Something like 8 million people being killed by the Xindi you would think would be something people would still talk about in the future.

21. That's the truth.
The Xindi were a race where the writers couldn't decide what the wanted the race to look like. Seriously, 5 different species of a single race that just throwing crappy ideas at the wall and hoping something sticks. Enterprise was a series at war with itself for the duration though. Instead of trying to make a solid series, they threw hail mary's from the beginning hoping it would restart the franchise.

5. The Doctor was by far the only Star Trek quality character.
Seven was super hot and Kes was decent both as a character and a cutie while she lasted. Tom I didn't like but I dig the spin off factor of him being Wesley Crusher's fallen squad leader.

8. And the actor went on to do quite well in the Stargate series
:D

Actually, I prefer the doctors on most science fiction series. I think Dr. Franklin is my favorite, though...

I never thought him being in charge of Atlantis would work but it did. He was also Amazo the Android! Also RIP Richard Biggs

14. What's "Amazo" from? Sounds like a fun part
:D

Yes, Biggs died way too young. Him and Andreas Katsulas are now "beyond the rim".

17. From the Justlice League cartoon series
Edited on Sun Oct-04-09 04:07 AM by rcrush
He played Amazo the android created by Professor Ivo that could absorb super powers. Became an all powerful god-like being in the cartoon. Went out to explore the galaxy and then came back to live with Dr Fate in his Tower.

18. Okay, thanks
:)

It's always nice to see the actors we like doing voice parts, too. I'm really surprised more of them don't do that. Especially the older actors that might not be up for live-action acting any longer...

20. I remember most of the TNG cast did voice parts on Gargoyles
Some cast from Firefly and other Whedon universe shows did voice parts on Justice League. Levar Burton was just in that Superman/Batman Public Enemies as Black Lightning. He only had one line though LOL.

22. Too bad someone doesn't bring back The Tick.
I could see quite a few Star Trek actors doing some of those characters

Although I do like whats-his-name from Seinfeld playing Brock in The Venture Brothers :D

13. I 100% agree - the hologram was the only one with personality on the whole ship
Voyager could've been cool, but they ruined the Starfleet/Maquis tension in the middle of the first season and turned it into a third rate milquetoast TNG clone. With Janeway instead of Picard. If that's not a recipe for disaster, I don't know what is.

The Doc was interesting, though. Torres was okay. The rest were vanilla.
