The female tech that came today said it was a simple thing to fix.

She stayed while I washed a load of clothes, just to make sure.

It was getting really tired going next door to wash clothes.

1. Good that it got fixed finally.
Were all the other techs guys? ;)

That reminds me, I need to complain to my landlord yet again about the lack of a folding table in the laundry room. Every time I mention it, he says, "Oh yeah! Thanks for reminding me. I'll go over to WalMart and get one." And then he promptly forgets. He is sincere, but unless you bug him about something a dozen times he will forget.

(by the way, I started this post over an hour ago and forgot I had started it by going to the grocery store )

2. Yes, they were guys.
She said she looks for the easy problems first.

You may have to get a small folding table to take with you.

3. At least it's fixed now.

My dryer belt needs to be tightened. It screeches like a banshee for a few minuets every time it starts. It's really getting on my nerves. On the the list on things to do...

5. We went for 5 months without a refrigerator while Sears tried to fix it.
About 6 years ago our Sears refrigerator finally broke down (it was a 1969 model). My Mom had been faithfully paying for the service contract for 34 years. Probably the amount of money she had paid over the years would have added up to enough to buy 3 new refrigerators. We reported it and a service tech came out, then ordered a part, but after a couple of weeks we got word that the part that old was no longer available, so they looked around locally for a used part, could not find that, and it dragged on for months. We ended up using a neighbor's fridge for a few weeks because she was on vacation. Finally after at least 15 phone calls I got through to someone in Chicago who had some real power to make something happen. She agreed with me that 5 months had been too long to go without a fridge and within a couple of days we were at a Sears picking out a brand new one. We ended up with a very nice new fridge but went through 5 months of great inconvenience after faithfully paying Sears for 34 years nonstop.
