Someone explain this to me...
How did George Peppard go from Oscar winning films like Breakfast at Tiffany's to playing Hannibal Smith on a shitty show like The A-Team?

1. Wikipedia says

He quit drinking in 1978 and began work on the A-Team in 1983.

I never read this one before, he was offered the role of Blake Carrington on Dynasty in 1981, even filmed several episodes, but he kept clashing with the producers so they reshot all of his scenes with John Forsythe in the role.

3. So he was drunk while doing "Banacek"? I liked that show.
Lots of stars slip from movies to TV crap. I expect Hayden Christiansen to show up on the WB at any moment.

4. Anyone remember Peppard in The Blue Max?
Seeing him in The Blue Max was the first time I ever saw him in anything. His American accent ruined the movie, I've always thought, but he was very easy on the eyes.
