What was your favorite Emmy moment last night
Mine was Ken Howard's acceptance speech. I think this is the first time he's won any award (he's been around forever) and the first thing he said "Well this is encouraging"

Then he said he hopes he's not interrupted by any Congressmen or Rappers while he gives his speech.

But what brought tears to my eyes - I had no idea he had a kidney transplant. I guess it's what saved his life.

BTW, he was really great in Grey Gardens. I was glad to see him win. Grey Gardens did really well last night at the Emmy's although I felt a bit blue that Drew didn't get an Emmy. Not sure why they had Jessica and Drew in the same category. They could have put Jessica in as Best Supporting and then both of them would have won.

5. I liked the self-directed writers'/directors' --

nomination videos -- I found them fun and it's always nice to see the faces behind the screne credits. It was especially good to see so many women representing in the director categories. I also really liked Jessica Lange's salute to Drew Barrymore

The rest of the show was pretty ho-hum for me -- they seemed to be trying too hard with the production.

On edit:

Forgot to mention Ricky Gervais -- the minute he gets on camera things always light up and become a little dangerous -- god I love that man!

6. I was glad to see Brendan Gleeson win.
He was great as Churchill. I remember him in films like Braveheart and The Gangs of New York, and he's "Mad-Eye Moody" in the Harry Potter films. I think his best film so far is "In Bruges". A really good actor.
