Recently discovered mysteries by Nevada Barr (the Anna Pigeon series)
I'm reading "Flashback"; this is the first Barr novel I've read, and so far I've liked it.

Anyone else like her books? Any in particular you can recommend? :hi:

1. Some of them I really liked, and some of them were so-so
A particular favorite was Firestorm. :)

2. thanks, I'll check it out. This one was slow to catch my interest,
but I'm glad I stuck with it. I tried to stay with one by Elizabeth Peters (the Peabody Egyptologist mysteries) and wasn't able to get past page 100. Some authors just click with me, others don't; I didn't want to lose interest in two mysteries in a row.

3. I've enjoyed the entire Anna Pigeon series
But it is more interesting reading them in order as her personal life develops. Plus she carries trauma from one book to the next. Each book does stand on its own, so it is not essential. I think I like Deep South and Hunting Party best and those two link pretty tightly together.

5. Love her books!
I've liked all of them in that series. Some are better than others, but there's not a bad one in the bunch IMHO.

Have you read the mysteries by Dana Stabenow? They are set in Alaska with an Aleut named Kate Shugak as the main character. They are also very good.:hi:
