I hate working in a cube!
all day long I hear my "neighbor" laughing out loud. the most annoying laugh you can imagine. Now I can hear her laughing while IM'ing. Guess that's why she has large plant blocking the passerby's view of her monitor. Help me.

She gives me dirty looks just for walking by. So, no, I haven't talked to her. I'm kinda wimpy about that.

3. I would if I knew her name.
Though given her general friendliness, she probably would block me.

2. The life of a cube rat sucks!
I was so happy when I finally got my own office. Too bad that in a few months were moving and EVERYBODY will be in a cube. :-(

Are you allowed to wear headphones and listen to music? Bose makes some great (but expensive) noice cancelling headphones that drown out extraneous noises.

5. Headphones on, turned all the way up
and I still hear it. Perhaps, I should start saving for the noise cancelling ones. I think it might be cheaper to come in over the weekend and extend that side of my cube to the ceiling. Perhaps, then she'd get the point.

9. The guy in the next cube chews potato chips with his mouth open
Just when you thought you have it bad, someone else has it worse. I want to lean over the cube and shout, "Close you friggin' gob when you chew, will ya?"

11. Oh, I hate that!
Probably because my sister and I were punished as wee bairns for chewing with out mouths open. I absolutely hate hearing someone smack his lips!

13. send an anonymous letter
We once had a receptionist with a braying laugh like that. She also cracked gum. I wrote her an anonymous letter, saying that she was probably unaware of her behavior but that it did not reflect the professionalism she'd need to get ahead in our organization. Stopped instantly.

14. Do you work near me?
I have the same exact person working here at my business and I swear I know her entire lifestory from all the personal phone calls she makes all day.

15. Oh yes
I worked with a fellow with a strong speaking voice who would have long personal phone calls and share them with the entire office. We finally got him to stop using the speaker phone. We decided he would never let anyone in his life do anything without telling them how to do it--I remember times when I'm convinced he was sitting at his desk in Manhattan talking to someone on her cell in her car in Florida, giving her directions as she was driving.
