Post a song about leaving
Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PqhOrgk11A

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick,
and think of you
caught up in circles confusion--
is nothing new
Flashback--warm nights--
almost left behind
suitcases of memories,
time after--

sometimes you picture me--
I'm walking too far ahead
you're calling to me, I can't hear
what you've said--
Then you say--go slow--
I fall behind--
the second hand unwinds

chorus:
if you're lost you can look--and you will find me
time after time
if you fall I will catch you--I'll be waiting
time after time

after my picture fades and darkness has
turned to gray
watching through windows--you're wondering
if I'm OK
secrets stolen from deep inside
the drum beats out of time--

chorus:
if you're lost...

you said go slow--
I fall behind
the second hand unwinds--

chorus:
if you're lost...
...time after time
time after time
time after time
time after time

1. Claws of Perdition
a song about permanent leaving...

A suicidal haze
Unreal like a torturous dream
Old stinging mental wounds
Still raw and fucking bleeding

Drowned in the womb of misery
The mother of depression
The slaughterer of all hope
The grim death of compassion

Sell your soul to evil
Sell your soul to Satan
The claws of perdition
A black metal suicide

A dead empty stare -
Into the ruins of my world
A world I have already left
So many fucking years ago...

Final Sodomistic death-score
A mouthful blood ejaculation
So painful and perverse
A black metal Suicide!

Abuse your soul!!
Abuse yourself!!

3. Roy Clark
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx8x3LCnYZw&feature=related

I`ve made a small fortune and you squandered it all
You shamed me till I feel about one inch tall
But I thought I loved you and I hoped you would change
So I gritted my teeth and didn`t complain.

Now you come to me with a simple goodbye
You tell me you`re leaving but you won`t tell me why
Now we`re here at the station and you`re getting on
And all I can think of is thank God and Greyhound you`re gone

Thank God and Greyhound you`re gone
I didn`t know how much longer I could go on
Watching you take the respect out of me
Watching you make a total wreck out of me
That big diesel motor is a-playing my song
Thank God and Greyhound you`re gone.

Thank God and Greyhound you`re gone
That load on my mind got lighter when you got on
That shiny old bus is a beautiful sight
With the black smoke a-rolling up around the taillight
It may sound kind-a cruel but I`ve been silent too long
Thank God and Greyhound you`re gone.

Thank God and Greyhound you`re gone...

5. How Can I Miss You If You Won't Go Away?
I've talked to your mother and I've talked to your dad,
They say they've tried but it's all in vain.
I've begged and I've pleaded, I even got mad,
Now we must face it, you give me a pain.

How can I miss you when you won't go away?
I keep telling you day after day,
But you won't listen, you always stay and stay,
How can I miss you when you won't go away?

Out of three billion people, why must it be me?
OhOh why, oh why won't you cut me loose?
Do me a favor and listen to my plea
I'm not the only chicken in the roost.

How can I miss you when you won't go away?
I keep telling you day after day,
But you won't listen, you always stay and stay,
How can I miss you when you won't go away?

Your never-ending presence really cramps my style,
I dream that it won't always be the same.
At first I was attracted, but after a while,
Have you ever heard of a "hard to get" dame?"

How can I miss you when you won't go away?
I keep telling you day after day,
But you won't listen, you always stay and stay,
How can I miss you when you won't go away?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYxlMrp91yA

Come on baby lets get out of this town
I got a full tank of gas with the top rolled down
Theres a chill in my bones
I dont want to be left alone
So baby you can sleep while I drive
Ill pack my bag and load up my guitar
In my pocket Ill carry my harp
I got some money I saved
Enough to get underway
And baby you can sleep while I drive

Well go thorough tucson up to santa fe
And barbara in nashville says were welcome to stay
Ill buy you glasses in texas a hat from new orleans
And in the morning you can tell me your dreams

You know Ive seen it before
This mist that covers your eyes
Youve been looking for something
Thats not in your life
My intentions are true
Wont you take me with you
And baby you can sleep while I drive

Oh is it other arms you want to
Hold you the stranger
The lover youre free
Cant you get that with me

Come on baby lets get out of this town
I got a full tank of gas with the top rolled down
If you wont take me with you
Ill go before night is through
And baby you can sleep while I drive

8. "Leaving Home Ain't Easy"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCG9x6AEKg0

I take a step outside
And I breathe the air
And I slam the door
And Im on my way
I wont lay no blame
I wont call you names
cause Ive made my break
And I wont look back
Ive turned my back
On those endless games

Im all through with ties
Im all tired of tears
Im a happy man
Dont it look that way?
Shaking dust from my shoes
Theres a road ahead
And theres no way back home
Ohh but I have
Leaving home aint easy
Oh I never thought it would be easy
Leaving on your own
Oh is the main thing calling me back?
Leaving home aint easy
On the one your leaving home

Stay my love my love please stay
Stray my love whats wrong my love?
Whats right my love?
Ohh leaving home aint easy
I thought how could I think of leaving
Leaving on your own
Still trying to persuade me that
Leaving home aint necessary
Leave the only way
Leaving home aint easy
But may be the only way

Lullaby Argentine especially; always one of my greatest challenges: coming up with music that expresses the feeling of the lyric and you pulled that off successfully here.

14. Lucinda Williams: "This Sweet Old World"
Maybe a different kind of leaving than you had in mind but I think of this song everytime I hear of a young person self-destructing.

See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
The breath from your own lips, the touch of fingertips
A sweet and tender kiss
The sound of a midnight train, wearing someone's ring
Someone calling your name
Somebody so warm cradled in your arms
Didn't you think you were worth anything
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world

Millions of us in love, promises made good
Your own flesh and blood
Looking for some truth, dancing with no shoes
The beat, the rhythm, the blues
The pounding of your heart's drum together with another one
Didn't you think anyone loved you
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world

Her own pain dealing with a friend's suicide is what makes this song resonate so much.

16. Leaving on a Jet Plane
Edited on Mon Aug-24-09 10:34 PM by merh
by John Denver

All my bags are packed
Im ready to go
Im standin here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin
Its early morn
The taxis waitin
Hes blowin his horn
Already Im so lonesome
I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go
cause Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Theres so many times Ive let you down
So many times Ive played around
I tell you now, they dont mean a thing
Evry place I go, Ill think of you
Evry song I sing, Ill sing for you
When I come back, Ill bring your wedding ring

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go
cause Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time
Let me kiss you
Then close your eyes
Ill be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When I wont have to leave alone
About the times, I wont have to say

Oh, kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go
cause Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

But, Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

61. Very nice! First "leaving" song that came to mind.
Back in the 70s, my daughter must have picked & strummed
& sung every John Denver song she could find . . . as well
as some by Buffy St. Marie & a few others.

Kinda missin' those summer nights on the front porch, just
ridin' the swing and listenin'.

Thanks for the links!

21. Midnight Train To Georgia
Gladys Knight and the Pips

L.A. proved too much for the man,
So he's leavin' the life he's come to know,
He said he's goin' back to find
Ooh, what's left of his world,
The world he left behind
Not so long ago.
He's leaving,
On that midnight train to Georgia,
And he's goin' back
To a simpler place and time.
And I'll be with him
On that midnight train to Georgia,
I'd rather live in his world
Than live without him in mine.
He kept dreamin'
That someday he'd be a star.
But he sure found out the hard way
That dreams don't always come true.
So he pawned all his hopes
and he even sold his old car
Bought a one way ticket
To the life he once knew,
Oh yes he did,
He said he would
Be leavin
On that midnight train to Georgia,
And he's goin' back
To a simpler place and time.
And I'll be with him
On that midnight train to Georgia,
I'd rather live in his world
Than live without him in mine.
Go, gonna board, gonna board,
Gonna board the midnight train.
Gotta go, gonna board
Gonna board
Gonna board the midnight train
(repeat, fade)

22. Glen Campbell - By The Time I Get To Phoenix
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUg5p3BncuQ

By the time I get to Phoenix she'll be rising
She'll find the note I left hangin' on her door
She'll laugh when she reads the part that says I'm leavin'
'Cause I've left that girl so many times before

By the time I make Albuquerque she'll be working
She'll prob'ly stop at lunch and give me a call
But she'll just hear that phone keep on ringin'
Off the wall that's all

By the time I make Oklahoma she'll be sleepin'
She'll turn softly and call my name out loud
And she'll cry just to think I'd really leave her
Tho' time and time I try to tell her so
She just didn't know I would really go.

all her toys wore out in black and her boys had too
she started to hate every nigger and jew
every mexican that gave her lotta shit
every homosexual and the idle rich
she had to get out
she gets confused
flying over the dateline her hands turn red
cause the days change at night change in an instant the days
change at night change in an instant
she had to leave
los angeles
she found it hard to say goodbye to her own best friend
she bought a clock on hollywood blvd the day she left
it felt sad she had to get out

35. Hold me
Somewhat of a balk, but it is a beautiful song.

KT Oslin - Hold Me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfw-9phkN6Q

Husband comes home and he says, “Wife turn down the radio, turn off the t.v., and listen to me. Let me tell you about my day.” So she sits down and she listens and he begins to speak.

When I left here this morning
I was bound and determined
I was never gonna come back
Never, never, I was running

I was running from you darling
I was running from my job
I was running from the kid in me
He never knows when to stop

Got as far as the edge of town
Then I turned my car around
And headed back to you

Husband says, “Wife, what do you think?” Wife says, “It’s very interesting. Before we talk about your day let’s talk about mine.”

When I left here this morning
I was bound and determined
I was never gonna come back
Never, never, I was running

I was running from you darling
I was running from my job
I was running from some wrinkles
No cream will stop

Got as far as the edge of town
Then I turned my car around
And headed back to you

Come here and hold me, tighter
Tell me tomorrow will be brighter
Kiss me, kiss me a little harder
Don’t kiss like we’re married
Kiss me like we’re lovers

We looked at each other
And we started to grin
This morning it was over
This evening we’ll start it all over again

Come her and hold me, hold me tighter
Won’t you tell me tomorrow’ll be brighter
Won’t you kiss me, kiss me, kiss me a little harder
Honey don’t kiss me like we’re married
Kiss me like we’re lovers and hold me
Hold me, hold me

:hug: <= Me holding you

36. Merle Haggard 'Someday When Things Are Good'
I don't care for a whole lot of country music, but I love this little melancholy tune, especially the guitar work...

Someday when things are good, I'm gonna leave you.
I can't seem to go when things are bad.
I'll be one more love that you can dream about,
And one more man that you can say you've had.

You'll always be the kind to dream of yesterday.
And a way of life I never understood.
And someday soon I'll be just one more memory.
And you'll call my name when things are not so good.

Someday when things are good, I'm gonna leave you.
I can't seem to go when things are bad.
I'll be one more love that you can dream about,
And one more man that you can say you've had.

41. Just a Song Before I Go - Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
Just a Song Before I Go Lyrics
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

Just a song before I go,
To whom it may concern.
Travelling twice the speed of sound
It's easy to get burned.

When the shows were over
We had to get back home,
And when we opened up the door
I had to be alone.

She helped me with my suitcase,
She stands before my eyes
Driving me to the airport,
And to the friendly skies.

Going through security
I held her for so long.
She finally looked at me in love,
And she was gone.

Just a song before I go,
A lesson to be learned.
Travelling twice the speed of sound
It's easy to get burned.

46. Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares to You
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rO8JWbG6bVw&feature=related

It's been seven hours and fifteen days
Since you took your love away
I go out every night and sleep all day
Since you took your love away
Since you been gone I can do whatever I want
I can see whomever I choose
I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant
But nothing
I said nothing can take away these blues
`Cause nothing compares
Nothing compares to you

It's been so lonely without you here
Like a bird without a song
Nothing can stop these lonely tears from falling
Tell me baby where did I go wrong
I could put my arms around every boy I see
But they'd only remind me of you
I went to the doctor n'guess what he told me
Guess what he told me
He said girl u better try to have fun
No matter what you'll do
But he's a fool
`Cause nothing compares
Nothing compares to you

all the flowers that you planted, mama
In the back yard
All died when you went away
I know that living with you baby was sometimes hard
But I'm willing to give it another try
Nothing compares
Nothing compares to you
Nothing compares
Nothing compares to you
Nothing compares
Nothing compares to you

56. How Can I Miss You When You Won't Go Away?

How Can I Miss You When You Won't Go Away?

by Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks

I've talked to your mother and I've talked to your dad
They say they've tried, but it's all in vain
I've begged and I've pleaded
I even got mad
Now we must face it, you give me a pain

How can I miss you when you won't go away?
Keep telling you day after day
But you won't listen, you always stay and stay
How can I miss you when you won't go away?

Your neverending presence really cramps my style
I dream that it won't always be the same
At first I was attracted, but after a while
Have you ever heard of the hard-to-get game?

How can I miss you when you won't go away?
I keep telling you day after day
But you won't listen, you always stay and stay
How can I miss you when you won't go away?
And I mean it, too!

Out of 3 billion people, why must it be me?
Oh why, oh why won't you cut me loose?
Just do me a favor and listen to my plea
I'm not the only chicken on the roost!

How can I miss you when you won't go away?
I keep telling you day after day
But you won't listen, you always stay and stay
How can I miss you when you won't go away?

And my fond farewell to Tom O'Neill...the drummer for my old rockabilly band, and one of my best friends. We saw Bruce do this in Phoenix in 2002...ten months later, I sang Thunder Road at Tom's funeral ..." you'll hear me, sing this song. And if you do, you'll know I'm thinking of you and all the miles in between..." damn, I think I'm gonna cry...

62. Van Morrison - Goodbye Baby lyrics
not on youtube :(

Goodbye baby, so long girl.
I know you aint gonna like it,
But Im stepping right out in your world
For Im coming to your party
And I wont be able to stay,
But Im gonna kiss you one more time, lord,
Then Im going away.
Goodbye baby hmm, baby goodbye hmm.

You may be lonely, yeah, you may be hurt,
Like a fool I gave you candy,
You turned around and treated me like dirt.
But still Im gonna come to your party
And just before the break of day
Im gonna touch you one more time, lord,
Then Im going away.
Sing it to me again
Goodbye baby hmm ha, baby goodbye.

Look out, what you see ?
I see a train a-coming,
A train a-coming down the long lonesome track.
Ill tell you, girl, I gotta go on home now,
But deep down in your heart
You know that someday im, Im coming back
And Im gonna look for you at your party,
cause all the time I know that Ill find you there
And listen, Im gonna dance with you
One more time, oh yeah.
Sing it to me tonight now
Goodbye baby, sing it sweet baby goodbye.

Lord, youre singing so sweet tonight goodbye baby
Goodbye baby baby baby baby goodbye
Ill see you around sometime, lord goodbye baby...

64. If You Must Leave My Life
If You Must Leave My Life -- by Jimmy Webb

(performed by Richard Harris in the album "A Tramp Shining")

Standing in my eyes
You'll always be the reason
But I knew I couldn't keep you for good
And I'm not even sure that I should

But girl, if you must leave my life
You leave me alone
And baby, long before you leave my life
Be sure you have your own

Somewhere in my mouth
There'll always be the taste of you
Forever is so very long
I don't want your life to go wrong

So girl, if you must leave my life
Consider every part
And baby, long before you leave my life
Be sure you have your heart

'Cause if it's not there
When you unpack
It might not be here
When you get back

71. About half a dozen Dylan songs come to mind.
Somebody already posted Boots of Spanish Leather, above, but how about:

Don't Think Twice, It's All Right

It ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
It don't matter, anyhow
An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe
If you don't know by now
When your rooster crows at the break of dawn
Look out your window and I'll be gone
You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on
Don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
That light I never knowed
An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe
I'm on the dark side of the road
Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' anyway
So don't think twice, it's all right

It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
Like you never did before
It ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal
I can't hear you any more
I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' all the way down the road
I once loved a woman, a child I'm told
I give her my heart but she wanted my soul
But don't think twice, it's all right

I'm walkin' down that long, lonesome road, babe
Where I'm bound, I can't tell
But goodbye's too good a word, gal
So I'll just say fare thee well
I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You could have done better but I don't mind
You just kinda wasted my precious time
But don't think twice, it's all right

OR

It's All Over Now Baby Blue

You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last.
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast.
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun,
Crying like a fire in the sun.
Look out the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense.
Take what you have gathered from coincidence.
The empty-handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets.
This sky, too, is folding under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home.
All your reindeer armies, are all going home.
The lover who just walked out your door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor.
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you.
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you.
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore.
Strike another match, go start anew
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

OR

It Ain't Me Babe

Go 'way from my window,
Leave at your own chosen speed.
I'm not the one you want, babe,
I'm not the one you need.
You say you're lookin' for someone
Never weak but always strong,
To protect you an' defend you
Whether you are right or wrong,
Someone to open each and every door,
But it ain't me, babe,
No, no, no, it ain't me, babe,
It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.

Go lightly from the ledge, babe,
Go lightly on the ground.
I'm not the one you want, babe,
I will only let you down.
You say you're lookin' for someone
Who will promise never to part,
Someone to close his eyes for you,
Someone to close his heart,
Someone who will die for you an' more,
But it ain't me, babe,
No, no, no, it ain't me, babe,
It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.

Go melt back into the night, babe,
Everything inside is made of stone.
There's nothing in here moving
An' anyway I'm not alone.
You say you're looking for someone
Who'll pick you up each time you fall,
To gather flowers constantly
An' to come each time you call,
A lover for your life an' nothing more,
But it ain't me, babe,
No, no, no, it ain't me, babe,
It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.

I could go on. It seems like half of Dylan's tunes are about leaving, and the rest are about coming home.

From 1979--before power ballads became all fashionable. Plus I thinkj this might just be a ballad sans power.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5ht976rNNQ

Before the dawn, I hear you whisper
In your sleep don't let the morning take him
Outside the birds begin to call
As if to summon up my leaving

Its been a lifetime since I found someone
Since I found someone who would stay
Ive waited too long, and now you're leaving
Oh please don't take it all away

Its been a lifetime since I found someone
Since I found someone who would stay
Ive waited too long, and now you're leaving
Oh please don't take it all away

Before the dawn, I hear you whisper
In your sleep don't let the morning take him

74. I haven't seen "Kiss and Say Goodbye" by the Manhattans mentioned yet.
This has got to be the saddest day of my life
I called you here today for a bit of bad news
I won't be able to see you anymore
Because of my obligations, and the ties that you have
We've been meeting here everyday
And since this is our last day together
I wanna hold you just one more time
When you turn and walk away, don't look back
I wanna remember you just like this
Let's just kiss and say goodbye

I had to meet you here today
There's just so many things to say
Please don't stop me 'til I'm through
This is something I hate to do
We've been meeting here so long
I guess what we done, oh was wrong
Please darlin', don't you cry
Let's just kiss and say goodbye (Goodbye)

Many months have passed us by
(I'm gonna miss you)
I'm gonna miss you, I can't lie
(I'm gonna miss you)
I've got ties, and so do you
I just think this is the thing to do
It's gonna hurt me, I can't lie
Maybe you'll meet, you'll meet another guy
Understand me, won't you try, try, try, try, try, try, try
Let's just kiss and say goodbye (Goodbye)

(I'm gonna miss you)
I'm gonna miss you, I can't lie
(I'm gonna miss you)
Understand me, won't you try
(I'm gonna miss you)
It's gonna hurt me, I can't lie
(I'm gonna miss you)
Take my hankerchief, wipe your eyes
(I'm gonna miss you)
Maybe you'll find, you'll find another guy
(I'm gonna miss you)
Let's kiss and say goodbye, pretty baby
(I'm gonna miss you)
Please, don't you cry
(I'm gonna miss you)
Understand me, won't you try
(I'm gonna miss you)
Let's just kiss
And say goodbye

77. So Far Away-- Nine Days
http://www.lyricsdepot.com/nine-days/so-far-away.html

If you leave
Where will you go
Before the regret you hold in your heart
Will start to show?
If you leave
How will you know
If our ever after ever had a chance to grow?
Do you dream
Or do you sleep?
Do you pick and choose
Amongst the jewels
For one to keep?
Do you wish upon a star
Or does everything just out of reach
Seem just too far away?

Nothing seems to change
Let alone when you won't forget my name
Just don't lose what you know
Just don't lose what you know
When you're so far away

So did you say
That no matter where you go
It all ends up the same?
Do you wish
Upon a star?
Or does everything just out of reach
Seem just too far away

Nothing seems to change
Let alone when you won't forget my name
Just don't lose what you know
Just don't lose what you know
When you're so far away

What you lose is what you know
Where you go is where you grow
How near we've come has yet to show
We've come so close yet so far away
So far away

What did I do to you?
What did I do to you?
What did I do to you?
What did I do to you?

Nothing seems to change
Let alone when you won't forget my name
Just don't lose what you know
Just don't lose what you know
When you're so far away

What did I do to you?
So far away
What did I do to you?
So far away
What did I do to you?
So far away...
What did I do to you?

(Jimmy My Thousand Treasures)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yeb360QFg9o

Irish lyrics (without diacritical marks):

Bliain an taca seo dimigh uaim run mo chleibh
Ni thiocfaidh se abhaile go dtabharfaidh se cursa an tsaoil
Nuair chifead e rithead le fuinneamh ro-ard ina chomhair
agus chludod le mil e, is e Jimmy mo mhile stor.

Bionn mo mhathair is mathair ag bearradh is ag bruion liom fein
taim giobaithe piocaithe, ciapaithe, craite de mshaol
Thugas taitneamh don duine ud dob aille sno
agus chuaigh se ar bord loinge, is e Jimmy mo mhile stor

Rachadsa chun coille agus caithfead ann an chuid eile de mshoal
san ait na beidh einne ag eisteacht le ceol na n-ean
ag bun an chrainn chaorthainn mar a bhfasann ann fear go leor
ag tabhart taitnamh don duine ud is e Jimmy mo mhile stor

English translation:

My love he's gone from me, no fairer than he can be found,
He'll never return until he course the wide world around.
When I'll see my love coming I'll crown him with laurel all o'er,
He's the fondest of lovers called Jimmy mo mhíle stór.

My father and mother they never can give me ease
Since first my true love went from me to the seas,
I bear it with patience, shedding and sighing full sore,
Lamenting the fate of Jimmy mo mhíle stór.

I'll go to the greenwood and spend there all of my time,
Where no man or mortal can ever disturb my mind,
Beneath the green willow I'll lament and sigh full sore,
And I'll wait on my pillow for Jimmy mo mhíle stór.

85. Fly by Night
Rush

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lpVjXwAfm0

Why try? I know why
The feeling inside me says it's time I was gone
Clear head, new life ahead
It's time I was king now -- not just one more pawn

Fly by night, away from here
Change my life again
Fly by night, goodbye my dear
My ship isn't coming and I just can't pretend

Moon rise, thoughtful eyes
Staring back at me from the window beside
No fright or hindsight
Leaving behind that empty feeling inside

Start a new chapter
Find what I'm after
It's changing every day
The change of a season
Is enough of a reason
To want to get away
Quiet and pensive
My thoughts apprehensive
The hours drift away
Leaving my homeland
Playing a lone hand
My life begins today

Goodbye, all you people
There's nothing you can say
To make me change my mind
Goodbye

89. Get Your Tongue Out of my Mouth I'm Kissing You Goodbye
by John Denver
youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1U6i6AdQjo&feature=related

Oh, at first it was just like heaven in your heart and in your arms
And paradise discovered in the sweetness of your charms
Yes, and every day a miracle to awake and be with you
And every night in your embrace another dream come true

But castles sometimes crumble some rivers still run dry
And fairy tales are witches tales when the truth becomes a lie"
And a pocket full of promises won't buy a diamond ring
And every word you said to me just didn't mean a thing

It's over now, you've gone too far I can't take anymore
Be careful now - don't hurt yourself when you walk through that door
I can hardly stand to look at you it makes me want to cry
Get your tongue out of my mouth because I'm kissing you goodbye!

Now I suppose I'll never know why things turned out this way
And why the one you love the most is the one you drove away?
Yes, and I suppose I'll never, ever really understand
How I could think that you'd make me a happy married man

So now I sit and contemplate the reason for it all
The climb to heights of ecstasy the failure and the fall
If a broken heart is purposeful it's in the lesson learned
No matter what the reason is it hurts when you get burned

Now I don't care, I don't think I'll ever love again
"Kemosabe" used to me good and trusted friend
But now it stands for therapy and all the tears I cry
Get your tongue out of my mouth 'Cause I'm kissing you goodbye!
Bye, Bye. Bye, Bye.
