8. More on the Incredible Ross Sisters:
The Ross Sisters were a trio of female sibling dancers consisting of Aggie Ross, Elmira Ross, and Maggie Ross. Their public attention peaked during the 1940s, during which they were featured prominently in the film Broadway Rhythm. This footage has since gained popularity on Youtube.

The Ross Sisters - Aggie, Maggie, and Elmira, who, for some reason, did not use their real-life names of Vicki (Veda Victoria Ross), Dixie (Dixie Jewel Ross), and Betsy (Betsy Ann Ross), performed as a 3-part harmony trio wherein they also danced and did acrobatics. Their sole remaining known film clip shows them performing "Solid Potato Salad" from the 1944 MGM musical "Broadway Rhythm," which features the sisters' amazing contortionism. This clip also appears in the compilation "That's Entertainment! III" (1994).

Still-frame photos from the "Broadway Rhythm" number are located at gather.com.

9. Crazy...
The rendition of Solid Potato Salad is pretty good, even though I've always thought that song was a real dud spud. (I've heard the Nat King Cole Trio version way too many times.)

Wonder if that kind of flexibility can be learned, or if it has to be partly genetic. Think the Cirque de Soleil punks could do those moves? I think the most impressive one was the sister standing on the cart who bends back, lays down in the flatbed area, then manages to get back up without using her hands.

10. Amazing.
They could touch their lil' butts to their heads bending over backwards. Especially that gal who went down backwards and up again on that high wooden frame thing -- I was on the edge of my seat praying she doesn't fall backwards doing that, it looked so hard!

Then I immediately had to watch the video again and was AGAIN praying she doesn't fall backward!

I searched U-Tube for just one more example of their performing but was disappointed to find there's only one film left capturing their talent.

And, I thought the song was great, too~!
