1. Even a dead crow is a bad omen.

3. I didn't realize how freaky smart crows are...
They recognize human faces, can learn, and teach other crows stuff...

Watch this stunning video... You will be amazed... It's worth the time...

4. Yes, I heard years ago how smart they are; that in olden days they
would follow armies as they marched because they knew there would be battles and therefor food.

I will have to show my kids the video.

Thanks!

9. I love crows! I love Ravens even more, having interacted with them in the English countryside.
The Brits know Ravens are the smartest of birds, even more than their crow-y cousins. But we don't have them where I live, albeit there are plenty of crows.

I happen to like sleek black animals. I have a black cat. I had a dog that was half-black lab, half-golden retriever who was just gorgeous. And big black birds are just awesome to me!

6. Is that the way they cool themselves?
I love them. There's every kind of black bird around here, from ravens to the smaller red winged blackbirds. It's like a set from "Harold and Maude" that was never used. lol :)

8. yes that's how crows cool themselves, they don't have sweat glands
many other birds will sit w. open beak in hot weather for the same reason

11. That's the corvid equivalent of a jaw drop.
Crows are often shocked and amazed at stupid human tricks.

:P
