I should've gone to bed instead of checking my e-mail :-(
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 12:24 AM by NightTrain
I just received this message from my buddy Dave, who I've known since 1983. I've also known his parents for damned near the same amount of time.

As if this hasn't been a rotten enough week already....

<<It is my utmost sad duty to report that on March 16, at 4:50pm, my father, Charles D. Dougherty, died peacefully at his home, with his wife (my mother) by his side. He was taking a shower, when he called out to my mom for help. She helped him to bed, where he died shortly there after. He had been fighting failing health for the last seven years, owing to a heart attack he suffered in May, 1996, with complications & setbacks. He had been failing for the last few months. Arrangements for a wake & funeral will be made tomorrow morning. I will send you another e-mail announcement when & where all will transpire. Dave >>

RIP, Charlie!

Last month (Feb. 17), my grandpa got up at 4:30 am, helped my grandma off to work at 5 am, and went back to bed. At 4:45 pm, my grandma found him dead. He died because his heart just stopped pumping.

I feel for you and you and your friend will be in my prayers tonight.

5. What a terrible week for you Night Train.
All I can say is that I've been there too.
I don't expect that to be of much help, but it is always a good thing to let others know that they aren't alone when it comes to experiencing grief-you will get through this ok brother.
Bob

7. Hmm....
Charlie was 78 years old. Somehow, I don't think he was keeping up with current music in 1983! :)

Good choice of song, though.
