Have you seen Simon?

The two little girls, 5 and 7, who live next door greeted me with that question when they rang my doorbell this morning.
Simon is their black and white tuxedo cat with the 90 degree bend in his tail.
I'm told by a vet that the bend was caused by the umbilical cord in utero.
Whatever.
He looks like he's continually signaling for a left turn.
I digress.

"Nope, Simon hasn't been here today."
When he's had enough of the princesses he hides out on my couch.
"Has he run away?"
"I dunno, but we want to whip his butt."
"Hmmm...why do you want to whip his butt?"
"He ate our fishes last night."
"Unh hunh."

They have (had, I guess) a couple of Siamese fighting fish in an aquarium.
There's no cover on the tank.
I guess Simon et 'em.
