A big thunderstorm just scared a dog into my home.
A German Shepard followed me in, wet and tired. He laid down at my feet like he's lived here for years. I guess I have a dog, at least for the afternoon.

1. Does he have tags?
Dogs can sense a kind heart... :)

2. He's totally naked.
No collar, no tags. He's been fixed and is very calm.

I already really him. Getting approval from my wife, landlady and cat will not be so easy, though.

We live in a small house, and I just got my wife to let me set up a 75 gallon saltwater fish tank. That took some doing. Now, I have a 70+ pound dog sticking with me. :)

3. The rain eased up and he let himself out the front door and
wandered off.

7. Let us know if he comes back - sounds like a smart dog to find a way out of the rain

5. Send the thunderstorm over to Chapel Hill, please?
We need rain!!

Once in L.A. a very long time ago during a heavy rainstorm (there was thunder and lightning)I was stopped
at an intersection and spotted a very wet and sad looking pooch. I got out, opened the back door to the car
and he hopped right in.

Fortunately, he had tags. I called the owner and they were so happy! He had managed to get out of
a fenced yard. They'd left him outside and gone out before it started to storm and the thunder
totally wigged him out.

Happy ending. Maybe there will be one for the German Shepherd, too.

11. My Mother's dogs have a doggie door to their room
where their food, bed, and other stuff is. When it thunders, their biggest dog will pull and pry one of the other doors to get back into the house! The doggie door is not enough!! Thunder makes this dog go nuts!! He will pry and open every closed door in the house once he is in. The dogroom is not good enough for him.He does thousands of dollars of damages every time it thunders and my parents just gave up on assuring him that thunder is nothing to be feared. They now leave every door in the house open all the time. Works great for the thunderstorms..sucks for the guests who are trying to visit and have a this big huge dog barking at them in their face and challenging them.
