Facebook "disabled" my account without explanation

I don't even use it that much, I'm always well-behaved when I do, and I only had 83 friends on there. Very mysterious. Anybody else have this happen?

Also for no real reason. It seems to be an intermittent bug of some sort.

2. Unfortunately, facebook famously has no customer service

so you can't ask anyone why. There is no way to find out what caused them to disable your account.

It could be that someone hacked your account and did something, and people alerted on it.
It could be a random glitch.
It could be a mistake.

since it's a free service. I imagine if you're one of their advertisers, they have representatives standing by, though.

3. The only person I know who had her account canned

lost it because she put up a name that was obviously fake. If you by any chance called yourself "Ivan Sputnnk" in your account, that's why you lost it. If not, I have no idea.

4. No, I do not use a fake name on FB

I use my real name. I have seen people on there with obviously fake names, though, and their accounts haven't been disabled. Facebook sent me this message today:

I wouldn't even know how.

I have, occasionally, accidentally logged in to my wife's account, because we share a computer. Hmmm.

Not my style.

Hardly....

I don't advertise or market anything on Facebook.

I only use it to keep in touch with friends and Facebook "friends"...period.

8. Okay, by any chance is your real name either

one that matches with someone famous or one with a rare last name that is known for something else? About a year ago in the Washington Post there was an article about how some lady with a ridiculously rare last name which is usually associated with something else (I don't remember what it was, but to illustrate what I mean let's assume it was Superman, Microwave, Iphone or something along those lines), and she only got her account back after her story was picked up nationally by the media.

I realize this is long odds, but I've got nothing else :)

9. Happened to a ton of friends of mine

but they all live in China and got their Facebook, Twitter and Youtube accounts yanked all at the same time so probably a government crackdown rather than a problem with Facebook.

10. Did you discuss politics with any friends? I have two

"friends" who are right wing. They've both responded to things I've posted on MY wall --not theirs--
and then when I reply (which they don't like) they say Facebook is meant to be fun, or "we have to agree to disagree" or some other bs which translates "don't confuse me with the facts".

I just wonder whether somebody reported you for harassment because you post political opinions.

Facebook membership is by and large right wing.

11. Nope. I don't discuss politics on Facebook

I do indicate that I voted for Obama in the space where they ask you to state your political views (if you want to). But that's it. I'm starting to think it's just a technical glitch, or maybe they have me confused with someone else. Unfortunately, my real name is a fairly common one.

No message from "The Facebook Team" today, so I guess they are in no hurry to resolve it or give me an explanation. Justice delayed is justice denied, hmm?
