Just a rant - anyone else find young beauty contests sick?

Yeah yeah, just bitching. I just watched a show where an infant was in a beauty contest. Many of these kids really don't act like they like this...

sorry for bitching.... Since Thursday night I have been dog sitting for a very unpleasant dog. I can't sleep, I can't leave my apt because he barks when I do and I don't want to piss off my neighbors.

There's another show out there with the same stuff, and these people are deeply disturbed. This is child abuse.

"But the children like it..." Sure they like it. They'd like shit sandwiches if that's all they ever ate.

And while we're busy pounding the crap out of the parents, don't forget to get a few licks in on the show producers.

but yes, it's especially sick to see toddlers being prepped by their parents to look and act like strippers.



I watched an episode of that show where amazingly they managed to combine several additional offensive elements into it. Live puppies as prizes, plus lily-white girls in native american costumes doing ethnically fucked up versions of native american dances. (flat open hand banging against mouth). Well, they weren't lily white, really - they had fake spray on tans.

6. The movie Little Miss Sunshine highlighted their sick aspect

The MC of the contest in that movie was looking at the little contestants with lust in his eyes. It would have been funny if it wasn't so sick, sick, sick.

had lipgloss on. I thought how disgusting is that.

Those people might have been exonerated in the kid's murder, but there was something very sick and wrong about the whole thing regardless.

they make them practice and practice and the kids get burned out, I watched Toddlers and Tiaras too, and it was pretty evident that alot of that was for those moms. I had to kinda laugh when the poor kid didn't win, and the mother gets upset, the kid doesn't appear to be upset at all.

My kids were in skating, and at some competitions the situations appeared similar to these beauty contests.

toddlers, when it would be better spent on their OWN grooming, which is clearly neglected.
