Bush would have just let them rot in hell and smirked it away with a joke when asked about them.

2. Don't forget Al Gore - he did a lot behind the scenes to set it all up.
You are right about Bush - He would have let them rot, and said bad shit about the RNK leaders. People have already criticised Obama for letting the whole thing happen beccause they say he gave legitimacy to the N. Korean government. Guess which party they belong to.....

3. I mentioned something on another thread about former-presidents
and good works - seems to be a Democratic thing. Can you imagine dumb ass doing anything helpful or useful for anybody except himself? if even that?

4. no disagreement here - glad the journalists are home - he did great!

I loved how Hillary described the NK as attention-seeking teenagers, though, or whatever she said. And then they responded by comparing her to a school-girl or a pensioner.
(not diplomacy's finest hour, but amusing nonetheless.)

Too much.

6. It's a damn site better than the cowboy diplomacy of the last 8 years.
2 journalist freed vs thousands dying for a lie. It's quite the noticeable improvement if you think about it.

8. From Mo Rocca's Twitter feed
"Nine years later Gore lets Clinton campaign for him. Clinton delivers hostages. Gore kicks self in head."

Can you imagine?

11. It is said that great leaders actually gain authority by delegating
and making sure others get credit when due.

That has been Obama (and the Clintons).

:salute:
