I brought my cats to the vet yesterday for their shots

and found out how big they really are. Max is a 16-pound hulk of a kitty. Ruby is no featherweight herself; she's 11 pounds and the vet told me she's about a pound overweight.

Ruby is a lap cat extraordinaire; Max likes to make biscuits on top of me, hurting me in the process. He doesn't know his own size; he thinks he's still a little kitten--he has a squeaky little kitten meow that sounds funny out of a cat this big!!
