Something weird I noticed after I had an atlas and too much time on my hands.
Of the 50 states, at least 16 of them had their highest point within 3 miles of the state border.

Why is that? I have no idea. But it's weird.


Oh, that and there is a town called Thousandsticks, Kentucky.

Check out Reno, it's actually west of Los Angles. Weird, no?

I think the western most point in South America is roughly around the same longtitude as Detroit.
