Woohoo!!!! I'm pumped at the prospect of having my own land, huge garden, fruit trees, chicken coop, maybe a goat or two.

1. Nothing like owning a piece of land to call your own.
Hope you get the land.

2. My dear NIckB79!
Sounds like a small farm!

Good for you!

It does sound like an awful lot of work!

Congrats!

3. Yeah, it would be a pretty small farm at 1.5 acres

But you'd be amazed at the things one can do when you know how to intensively garden, rotate your crops, build and use compost, plant green manures, etc. My 20'x20' community garden plot is already putting out almost more vegetables than I can use right now, so the current 60'x30' garden on the property will be amazing.

As for the work, meh. I grew up on a 120 acre family farm, so I'm not afraid of getting good and sweaty.

Oh, and did I mention it's surrounded by 'real' farms but only 8 minutes drive to work? I could bike on nice days.

4. I have a large garden and it is just great to see plants and seeds grow.
You land will be a good investment.
