What's your favorite crazy Knights Templar conspiracy theory?
Mine? That the Freemasons are the descendents of the Templars and they have a plot to take over the world.

Do you KNOW any Freemasons? They couldn't sober up long enough to seize a local post office...

1. That there is a map on the back of the Declaration of Independence that leads you to....
....where Nicholas Cage took acting lessons.

There is no way in Hell that Nicholas Cage EVER took acting lessons!

actually has Obama's Kenyan birth certificate. Rush Limbaugh is working on a plan to rappel into the building (trying to find some rope heavy enough to hold him) and steal it and save America!

7. I'm a Freemason
Yeah yeah, we have Jesus' skull and all the treasure of the Templars....yawn...

But seriously I am a Mason - they're kind of like the Lions club but they serve beer.

Oh and the rituals are wicked cool if you're a history buff. That must be why my lodge has so many Jr High and HS History Teachers in it.

And that whole Atheist thing - well when asked my answer was "I don't know and neither do you" and that sufficed.

Granted, its a pretty liberal lodge...

8. Does your lodge get a keg for the bus for long road trips?
A friend's dad was a freemason, and they basically used any excuse possible to drink like fish. They had some truly innovative methods and reasons for drinking, too!

9. Not my lodge - they do serve beer at the crab feasts
But most of my lodge is made up of history geeks

Not to say anyone would turn down a drink

You can tell what kind of a lodge it is by the activities and trips. Ours does trips to Masonic Libraries all over the world. The one in SF is pretty cool, and as far as I know, anyone can visit and read there, but only Masons can check out books.

All I know is the Thai Lions Club when I was in Peace Corps - and they didn't serve beer.

But they did a lot of good work for the orphans of Thailand!

17. Colonel Sanders was a Templar.
They gave him the secret recipe of eleven delicious herbs and spices for fried chicken in order to take over the world.

He was also a white slaver and an advocate of free love. A real right bastid.

19. He wanted to do it with cacti.
Real weirdo.

It is also a little-known fact that Harland Sanders was a wanted man for the crime of capital murder on three continents, and seven countries.

He had a horrific temper and settled every perceived slight with the sword he had concealed in his cane.

21. Ha! Zell Miller is a piker compared to the monster Col. Sanders.
Did you know that Pol Pot had Sanders as a personal chef for six years?

He said that eating the chicken fried by the Colonel's very own hand made him so happy if he had to he would kill millions in order to eat it every day.

Templars at work again, behind the scenes.

Truly evil.

27. All that pesky satanic ritual abuse.
Edited on Tue Jul-28-09 08:07 PM by woo me with science
There are lots of breathless references to Freemasons on recovered memory/satanic ritual abuse websites.

The first link shows "Survivors" looking for evidence of repressed ritual abuse in DVD cases, doodles, and reactions to sounds. The second poster in the thread suggests Masonic involvement:

http://www.twhj.org/discus/messages/65/20819.html

Here's another one. In this case, the recovered memory therapist has directly suggested Masonic involvement:
