1. I have a math test coming up but I like math.
I found my old jc math book and have been reviewing my math.

There are some good math websites, some of them have math games.

My test is in September, I want to pass the first time.

I am not looking forward to taking the test.

8. If you have the option of 'Not sure.'
Just click it always, then you get 50-50 and pass. ;)

Multiple choice on computers ... Why wasn't this around when I graduated? We had a notebook and a pen ...

Have you already been accepted and this is just a test to assess your abilities, or does this test have something to do with being accepted?

25. I'm applying tomorrow.
It is just to see if I need to take the required math courses. I've avoided going back to school all this time coz I didn't want to see how bad I am at math.

33. Let's say you got a total zero on the math portion...
would that prevent them from accepting you, or would they just require you to take math classes?

Also, we can discuss this later maybe...there are ways to prepare before the 31st.

37. Not to worry then!
Take the test, assess your skills honestly, take the math classes, and go from there.

Many many adults lose their math skills over time...happens to the best of us.

As Mr. Dylan says..."Swallow your pride. It will not hurt you. It is not poison".

39. If I were in your shoes, I would do this...
I'm assuming that your math skills are really bad because it has been such a long time since you took a math class?

One option would to be to have someone good at math sitting next to you on your PC while you take your test. However, this does not really accomplish much, since you are cheating yourself and it may hurt you pretty badly in some classes that you need to take down the road that require the use of math.

However, I do understand the "pride" issue completely.

Over the next few days, see if you can contact a Junior High or High School math teacher that wants to make a few bucks to tutor you for say, 8 hours. If you cannot afford to pay the teacher, see if you can work out some kind of trade.

Explain your situation to them. See if they will sit with you . Have them start with a very basic math refresher, and gradually work up to some simple algebra problems over the next 8 hours.

While this will not enable you to ace the math portion, it will help the "pride" issue by enabling you to do at least reasonably well.

Honestly, if I lived near you, I would help you out with this for free. Please consider doing this Gray, if you can.

40. Since I have many things to do to get ready for school, like still apply for aid
meet with a career counselor, meet with unemployment, attend several meetings, I will have to do this on my own by going online and trying to memorize stuff. I have two samples of the test that are on line, both of them have similar questions, so I will try and figure out the calculations to those and then just do my best.

I know you'd help if you could and I really really appreciate that. But I will let you know how I do. I think I may wait til Wed which will give me tomight, tomorrow and tomorrow night to practice.

So who is to say what is right or wrong?

If the questions are multiple choice, don't be afraid to pencil in your own answers as such shows creative thinking outside the box skills.

41. I took a math assessment about 18 years ago to go back to college.
They told me I had no math ability at all, which strangely made me feel better. I eventually took a college math course for people who would have no ned for math ever again. Passed with a D, my lowest grade ever.
