Holy ZEUS!1 Holly HUNTER has been on 2 morning shows & is INCOHERENT!1

Or, probably more precisely, INARTICULATE!1 She's got hesitations, vocal clicks, is just annoying. Just like (will Google the name) last month's Plugger-of-the Day, who surfaced after years of being invisible and had these "precious" pauses and haltings.


On Edit: Can't think of last month's resurfaced inchoate person. She's, like, from the '90s ('80s?), NOT Kathleen TURNER, a real beauty... WHAT is her name?!1

Anyway, yes, I *did* act on that perennial DU advice, for ONCE, "Why don't you TURN IT OFF?!1"

We were watching "Saving Grace" (a fabulous show, by the way) and had to have the captions on because she is frequently hard to understand. Pity - she's a fabulous actress. Maybe she should take enunciation lessons.

20. Just to clarify (my) position, since there can be negative implications in that "Hmmmm."

I myself had NO thought of regional criticism about Ms HUNTER. I knew nothing about her, had not even seen her in anything, would not recognize her face. All I had heard was her name.

Peekaloo brought up that HUNTER was from Georgia, then added that she/Peek was, too, and Peek didn't impute a regional bias.


However, the Georgia dude who tried to equate his perception of my expression with HUNTER's re-injected the GEORGIA angle (from his Profile) into it all, and my pique at HIM made it sound like I was regionally biased.

Just trying to seal off ONE, POSSIBLE meaning in the "Hmmmmmmmmmmm."

Oh, and the Georgia dude (above) failed to note:

1) Ms HUNTER makes a living from her verbal skills, a high profile, WELL compensated living, which highlights her presentation of herself. I don't. She is a Big Fish in a Public pond. I'm not.

2) If I were in Ms HUNTER's presence, I would be polite, possibly deferential and ass-kissing. Here is where all manner of SPOUTING OFF is an outlet. And I wouldn't be rude to a regular/civilian type person unless they were being obnoxious.

3) There can be NO "regional" type implication in my SAME criticism of Michelle PFEIFFER.

Oh, and my keyboard keys are sticking, I type FAST, and I am a poor proofreader, so there's THAT!1


And, now, to await the predictable "protests too much" post (from whomever, not necessarily Bertha).
