7. I learned to make Bahmi from a Dutch friend
She was born and raised in Indonesia, spent 4 years as a kid in a Japanese internment camp there.
She always said the food wasn't hot until your ankles itched.

8. Would it be really pushy of me
to ask for your recipe?

I've got a bunch of them, but I'm always looking for the perfect one, and I've got a feeling about yours.

If you can, thank you.

If you can't, thank you........................

16. Me three?
Have only had Indonesian food a few times (twice in Amsterdam, once or twice in Chicago) and LOVED it.
Also, I love cabbage in various other dishes, so this sounds like a winner for me.

Have a recipe for an Indian cabbage-and-pea curry that I love. Ack - I'm making myself hungry!
Ummm, Thai food.... Happy Birthday!

22. my favorite way for cooked cabbage is...
...to cook some pork chops with Lawry's season salt in a fry pan, then remove the chops, put some butter and sliced cabbage in the pan and fry it off. Slightly caramelized, savory, porky....

24. Bubble and squeak.
Always a favorite way of using the leftovers from a corned beef and cabbage dinner. The steamed cabbage and potatoes from the night before are chopped and fried in a generous amount of butter until slightly browned. Leftover corned beef can be added. Lots of black pepper. Yummy.
