Our dogs both acting weird, low scared growls, weak barks

I just want to note it here in case of an earthquake or volcano in the mid west in the next 24 hours.
I am also going outside to check around, and calling some people to check and see how they are doing out on the road. This is very odd.

1. Our dog used to hug the walls

before an earthquake. Couldn't get her out of hallways, where she just stayed right up against the walls.

She was never wrong.

Sounds like your pups are picking up some rumbles.

Any snakes coming out of the ground outside?

Did you take your cue from her and huddle up with her when you found out what a good seismologist she was?

5. She and I - my husband was always away

when those things broke - spent a lot of nights with pillows in the steel-beam-reinforced-doorways of our home in San Francisco. I'd put her leash on, and tie the leash to my wrist. The only thing I feared was losing her, having her run away in fear.

After one particularly bad night, when I was studying for the CA bar exam, and the aftershocks were endless, I took her with me to Boalt Hall, where the Bar Review course was being taught. Happy was thrilled to be back on a campus - she grew up on Antioch's campus in Yellow Springs, Ohio - and became a real favorite of my classmates.

Even when the shocks subsided, I still took her with me to class. She loved it..................................
