Don't you hate it when you make a new friend on Facebook
then scroll down their status, only to see "Married", "Engaged", "In a relationship with..."?

This has already happened to me several times in my first few weeks on FB. And a couple of 'em are DUers!

FAIL. :(

1. I guess if you're just looking for a hook-up it would be.
I prefer getting shot down in person!

3. I'm hardly "just looking for a hook-up"
but getting shot down in person a couple of months ago, by the most fabulous human being upon the face of this Earth  , threw everything into sharp relief. Something better happen soon (I turn 45 in a couple of weeks), or I shall die as I have lived, alone and miserable. :(

2. The opposite happened to me the other day.
I got a friend request and accepted it. (I accept all requests. This is because I don't make any of my own.) It was a young Turkish girl who picked out my name from the same Facebook fanpage I visit as a fan of Turkish coffee. Once I accepted her request, I checked out her profile. She was about eighteen and in high school over in Turkey. I'm forty and married. I sent her a PM asking her if she had got my name from the Turkish Coffee page. She PM'd back yes, I did; yes, I like Turkish coffee, too; and goodbye!

A couple of days later, she disappeared from my Friends page. She must have noticed that I'm forty and married.

BTW, she was gorgeous. Just stunning. But she was eighteen, and I'm forty and married.

Weird...

What I really hate is when I check out the profiles of people I thought I knew, and it turns out they're right-wing freakazoids. :eyes:

4. I've gotten used to being a loser out of lots of practice. So it only bothers me on bad days.

5. I'm sorry you're feeling so alone.
:(

The more friends you have the more friends can introduce you to people. :)

Please don't let depression get to you. :loveya:
