39. What about any and all Budweiser products?
Mind you I'm talking about the fermented horse piss made in St. Louis, not the Real Budweiser made in the Czech Republic.

3. As phrased, I'd have to agree with you.
But then, I'm not really a beer drinker. Wine? Sure. Liquor? Absolutely. Beer? I'm allergic to something in it, and can only drink one before I turn into a total mucoid and my frontal lobe turns to snot for 24 hours.

7. Pete Coors's wife Marilyn
...sits on the board of Pat Robertson's Regent University. Never mind that if you work for Pat, you are not allowed to drink. But as Bob Dylan said, "Money doesn't talk, it swears."

Pete's dad Joseph was on Reagan's informal "kitchen cabinet" when he was governor of California. This relationship carried on when the Coors family bankrolled many of the illegal weapons and airplanes used by the contras in Nicaragua in the 80's.

Coors is anti-union to the extreme, pro-censorship, and anti-choice.

If all of that is not bad enough, what the fuck is up with the Coors Light marketing people? The mountains on their containers turn blue when it's cold enough. If you can't tell how cold your beer is by TOUCH, maybe you shouldn't be drinking beer.

Plus, it isn't fit to be called alligator piss.

Like most high schoolers - drank all the big 3 beers: Bud-Miller-Coors. No micros where I was back then either. Didn't know better - it was at the end of Reagan's first term as president too. When new shit came to light, I quit! I think the last Coors I had was in 1987.

24. I don't think it's very well known, but
when I was in college I had several roommates from Colorado, and they all told me that they had done that. It's kind of a rite of passage to piss in the stream that becomes Coors. I guess it's not known much beyond Colorado.

33. I read it wrong.
When I first saw this thread, I thought you meant "better to have no beer than to drink Coors Light". I was all set to agree. Then I read it again and realized my mistake.

Coors Light sucks. If you want water, go to the sink and get some. If you want to drink beer, drink a real beer. I love, love, love a good microbrew. I just had a lovely stout with my fish & chips at a local brew pub. It was divine. Granted, stout isn't what most people drink in the summer, but it happens to be my favorite. All of the beers are great there.

I didn't even like beer until about 10 years ago when I had some at this brew pub. Until then, all I had ever had was Bud, Coors Light, Rolling Rock, and Iron City Light in college. I thought I hated beer, until I had real beer. Then I was in love.

Edited on Sat Jul-25-09 05:42 PM by fujiyama
That's not really saying much as the competition is especially poor. Bud Light IMO wins the closest to water award. Hell when drunk, I've mistaken it for water. Miller light is a bit better.

I tend to avoid all of them though and the politics of Coors makes it even more unappealing. I may be mistaken but I think all the major macro brews are RW. Yuck.

The one that surprised me was Pabst on tap. Surprisingly good for a cheap beer. But it tasted AWFUL out of a can. But then again, beer out of a can is something I have not drunk in over five years since it usually is pretty nasty, the only exception being Guinness.

I'm more of a micro-brew craft beer kind myself. We had a great beer fest in MI yesterday!
