My newest poem: "Strength"
I have never been strong
Games were not my thing
I’d rather sit and watch
The seagulls fly
While white sunlight
Etched their wings

But when I say
I love you
My strength is a hundred fold more
Than any man

To love someone
Is to have an army inside you
Loving you gives me strength

It fills me with light
My love does
It makes me strong
So I can carry you
When you’re weak or lost
Or in pain

Do not mistake me
My body’s weak
But loving you
Gives me strength
To be the army
Inside you

6. My dear Miss Marmelstein!
Oh, wow!

Where have you been, young lady? Hmmm?

You have been missed, big time!

I am so pleased that my little work has persuaded you to stop lurking...

And I'm even more pleased that you like it...

Thank you, sweetie!

7. It has been awhile....
in fact it took a minute to figure out how to reply to a post! :P

We've had full custody of Jr for over a year and a half....so I gave up hanging around the lounge to be a full time mom. I do still lurk on DU tho....it's the best place to get the news...just not in the lounge very often.
Quatro and Jr are in the states visiting Jr's mom at the moment...so I have a little free time.

Missed you CalPeg!

And our conversations...

I'm doing the poetry pretty often, these days...

It's very satisfying when it arrives ...

Welcome back, sweetie...

10. My dear Prisoner_Number_Six...
I think I have too...

I showed this to my friend who also reads at the Open Mic, and she LOVED it. She's had numerous pieces published, and she just couldn't say enough nice things...

I am getting ready to do a chap book...

Have you heard about those?

Trust me, you will get an autographed copy!

And I'm going to give it to you...

Thank you, sweetie, for your help and support...

13. I read most of them, I just comment on a few that have special meaning.
Although many are good, I like some more then others.

This one was especially good from my point of view :)

adore this poem Peggy. Your words ring true for so many.

To love someone
Is to have an army inside you

big sigh . . .

And glad to hear that you're feeling alright. Treadmill? Yuk - but necessary. Will keep you in my prayers.

20. This is beautiful, Peggy....
When reading it...for me, it wasn't about romantic love...
It hit every emotion for me regarding my beloved daughter...our love and her illness.
She's very strong...and like you, a nurse.
The only movie we ever saw together when she was young, just mother and daughter, was Terms of Endearment.
Years later, many of the same scenes were reenacted in our life...including the hospital scene.

Thank you for this beautiful poem..
It serves to show how the words of others can touch one's heart in different circumstances..

peace~

That is a wonderful thing, what you've told me...

I think that having a poem be adaptable is key.

I'm really honored that you found solace here...

My best to you and your daughter, always...

Thank you, sweetie!

This kind of art is empowering to the beaten, with which most of our country can relate.

Thank you:)

I don't believe I've had the pleasure of talking with you before...

I'm pleased that you enjoy my words!

I love the fact that you have a very different interpretation than I do...

That's the great thing about poetry.

It can mean many things to different people.

Thank you!

I enjoy the fact we are all different with abilities to accept them. It seems a bit strained lately but, I think kindness and love will be what really changes the world:)
