Alan Rickman will be mine! Ordered Galaxy Quest on Netflix
I saw Galaxy Quest years ago, but after seeing Harry Potter 6, I am trying to get my Rickman fix. I loved him in Galaxy Quest. "By Grabthar's hammer, we live to tell the tale."

Awesome!

Kevin Costner - meh. I could have done without him.

Rickman, however, is soooo sexy and over-the-top. Yum.

2. That's one of those you have to watch over and over to catch the subtle humor.
Like near the beginning, when they come looking for the Commander and get their pods. Guy is in the sidelines with a girl who says, "But you live with your mother."

When they're trying to leave the ship and arguing, Tech Sgt. Chen comes strolling through the middle mumbling, "Wow, the floors are so CLEAN!"

There's shit like that all over the movie.

Oh, Alan. Why won't you remove that pesky restraining order and consent to be my love slave?

I am not a big Tim Allen fan, but I loved this movie.

The family hasn't seen it so it will be a treat for them.

63. Tim Allen had many great moments in that movie. But the best, in my opinion, is
when all the crewmembers are aboard, and Taggart asks them: "Want to see the ship?" He has this gleam in his eye like a kid on Christmas morning. He's just thrilled to DEATH to be living this. Great moment of acting...

43. That's why it succeeds as a parody
The people making it clearly loved the source material they were working from. That's why garbage like "An American Carol" sucked so bad.

It reminds me of two thoughts.

Watch "Truly, Madly, Deeply". It's a British film. The bad Hollywood remake of it was "Ghost". It's a 3 box of kleenex movie. Alan Rickman at his romantic finest.

64. I have two copies of Galaxy Quest
and both are censored/edited versions I never wanted. At the part with the "chompers" and Weaver's character says "Well fuck that!" my copy has her saying "Well screw that!" I know I saw her say the former at the theater, so why the dub on the DVD?

Anyway, Rickman was great in Galaxy Quest, as well as portraying Marvin in Hitchhiker's Guide :D

83. I saw that on imdb and I still don't get it.
Just release two different versions: one for Wal-Mart and one for the rest of us adults.

I think the other one was when Jason is first confronted by the rock-monster, he goes "oh shit" and the dub is "oh darn".

So, I have this extra copy if you want it ;)
Maybe the director will be smart and release a truly uncut director's cut sometime...
