I feel like showing off - pure vanity post - warning, large photos
I painted my motorcycle about a week and a half ago and got it put back together a couple of days ago. I'm really happy with how it turned out so so here comes some pictures. As I said, pure vanity post:

The colors are House of Kolor Candy Tangerine on top and Candy Cobalt Blue on the bottom, both with a white base over black base.

6. To answer your question - West Virginia Roads had a lot to do with it
Edited on Sun Jul-19-09 07:08 AM by ThomWV
Actually I just put that front wheel on the bike at the same time I put the newly painted tins on it. That is the third wheel that has been on the bike in the last two years. The two that proceed it were both spoked wheels, the first one with stainless spokes and the second one all chrome ($). I bent both of them. The first one bent when I hit a particularly bad RR crossing and the second one went to a pothole. The new wheel is forged steel (not aluminum) and should be able to stand up to West Virginia roads. Just a little sidenote. West Virginia is a poor state so its not so much of a surprise that its roads are not well maintained. What is less known is that West Virginia has the highest per mile road building and maintenance cost in the nation. It is a deadly combination. Its also hell on motorcycle wheels.

On Edit: The rear wheel, which is cast aluminum, is stock and came on the bike when new (2002).
