Have you ever sent anything to a President?
After the thread in GD with the photo of President Clinton and the little boy in New York City just after September 11th, I was reflecting on the above question. Has anyone else here sent the President anything besides a letter?

We sent President Clinton a photograph of our new home right after he bought his new house. After all, the economic policies of the Clinton White House helped us buy that home, and we wanted to thank him!

During one of his numerous trips to Seattle, a local barista approached President Clinton while he was out jogging with a freshly made latte. She almost got herself shot by the Secret Service, but they finally let her give the President his latte.

Soooo, c'mon folks, is there anyone else out there who've sent anything?

Julie

2. Sent a complaint to Bush
He mailed back to us a picture of him and his father. The postcard read: "Thanks for Supporting Your Republican Party."

I was pissed! :( Then, I got over it, laughed hysterically about it, and today we still have it as a momento.

4. I sent a fiftieth birthday card to Richard Nixon about 1969.
No, it wasn't my idea. I didn't even know who (or what) he was, but my first grade teacher had everyone in the class send him one. I can still remember the birthday cake I drew. I had to put candles all over the sides to fit 50 on the cake. We each got a "personalized" card from him. I don't think it was signed, and I haven't seen it for over 30 years now.
