a sweet breed. my observations:
very intelligent, maybe too much so! will have you in stitches every night with silly play behavior antics pretty good with kids, although not the very best. indoor-kept bostons tend to smell clean, faintly like some kind of tea will gladly learn any trick/behavior for a morsel of sweet sweet food!
sheds EVERYWHERE kinda willful short muzzle leads to breathing problems. does not do well in temperature extremes.
I've owned both dogs and cats at various times all my life. I can easily say that I've never bonded with any of my other pets nearly as deeply as with this here boston. she can read my mood so quickly and accurately, it's kinda eerie. this dog is family.
if you have time to spend with your pet, i could heartily recommend a boston, even more so as a rescue, obviously. but if you want the kind of pet situation where you see it briefly in the AM, crate it for ~10 hours alone while yer at work, then see it a few hours in the eve. before crating it again for the night, then I would recommend something else.
please feel free to PM me with any boston-related questions. :)
if my dog could vote, I think she'd have been a dean supporter. Jimmy Dean, that is! (sausage)
