Kerr Avon's cool outfit has the same color scheme as my cool car.

Most gripping 10 minutes of television ever... or at least ahead of its time... (Especially if you were a fan from the start; Blake turning on former allies was one of MANY shockers in a very gritty, Shakespeare-worthy episode... the story arc of this final year featured Avon losing battles and gambit, with paranoia setting in...)

10. The root of this 2012 stuff
Folks think that the Mayan calender runs out on Dec 21, 2012. As the Mayans were advanced mathematically (they had a concept of zero long before many contemporary civilizations) and were particularly studied in sciences such as astronomy, some have come to the conclusion that they knew something devastating that we didn't.

The truth is that this has less to do with the apocalypse, and more to do with the way in which the Mayans calculated their calendar. The Maya long-count calendar is an extremely complex system that deals with a count of days, working in various divisions of time, the longest being 5,200 year eras. On Dec 21, 2012 the current era ends. Unfortunately, the gentlemen who would have made the calculations to set up the next era for the calendar, were slaughtered by the Spaniards, or forcibly converted, and their books were put to the torch. Hence, even the Mayans believed that life would go on, they just expected some degree of major change to occur attendant to a shift in eras.
