1. How about Chan Ho Park of the Phils?
Always thought that's a neat name.

2. I like to hear announcers handle "Saltalamacchia"
I was at a Sox-Braves game a couple of years ago, and it completely flummoxed the PA announcer. God help him if the often-rumored trade rumor ever comes true!

24. He actually is pretty bad ass, IIRC.
He had a rare medical condition causing him to suffer extreme fatigue and making playing virtually impossible. He almost retired because of it, but was able to work himself through it and make a notable comeback last season to help the Rays get to the World Series.

27. Yo, he's from Rhode Island, knowwhatimean?
Rocco's playing for the Sox as a 4th outfielder this season, which is a good way of dealing with the channelopathy problem. he's also just an hour from his hometown, which has to be nice.

30. The radio announcers were all about the Rhode Island thing on Sunday
I was driving home and listening to the game (but I didn't get into the car until the 3rd inning) and they spent quite a bit of time recognizing Rhode Island.

31. It was "Rhode Island Day" at Fenway
Each of the six New England states gets a day at the ballpark, where the governor and other locals participate in a pregame ceremony.
