Can we start a thread in praise of Rep. Charles Rangel - D-NY
We had a peace rally in front of Dover Air Force Base. Did we see any of the Delaware Democrats in attendance at the rally (we're a pretty dem state except our State AG and sole representative to the house)....NO!!!

But we did see Charles Rangel in attendance. He was such a great speaker and supernice guy. I got to shake his hand afterwards and he signed my program from the event.

Charles Rangel is the cream of the crop and one of the best guys in DC. The folks in his district in NYC should be glad to have a great guy representing him! Anyone else have great words to say about Charles Rangel??

4. I think Rangel can kick Sharpton's butt to New Jersey.
Sharpton is an amateur compared to Rangel when it comes to electoral politics, I'm pretty sure.

2. Kudos to him!
He is one of the more reliable Democrats -- when an issue needs speaking out on, he's pretty much always there with his big voice, telling it like it is.

We need more Rangels, Waters, and Waxmans in our Congress.

3. He's my rep. And I am proud of him.
Except when he fumbles language and people's names. Like "coup deck-ah" for coup d'etat. And "Abado Diomo and Abraham Luigi"--or something like that--for "Amadou Diallo and Abner Louima." Then I cringe a little. No one's perfect, though. I'd rather have a malapropping fighter like Rangel than a spineless guy with pristine communication skills. When Rangel is on, he is really, really on. And he has been more "on" than most Democrats, since 2002 especially.

I think all Americans--certainly all Democrats--owe him a debt of gratitude for being so able a leader in the battle against Repulican tyranny in the House.

5. Charlie is absolutely on of my favorites and I've always loved him.
He needs donations to fight off an opponent (forgot his name) but he could really use some help. He's always right there fighting off the Republicans on every issue. He doesn't get suckered in because of money...which is more than I can say for many. He always votes the same way I would have voted if I could.

He's a really smart man...he supported and campaigned for Wes CLARK. Now that is an intelligent thinking person! I love Charlie and Wes.
