1. some kind of pork thing in the crock pot
I added some mustard, hot peppers, onions, random stuff to it.

And we'll have a big salad cause the lettuce is ready to pick.

3. Gazpacho, yummy, yummy gazpacho -
really cold, with chopped onions, tomato, cucumber, red pepper, homemade garlic-Parmesan croutons, and grilled shrimp.

In this weather, gazpacho is a blessing....................

The one near our house 1) is within walking distance, and 2) has an outdoor terrace. Plus it's on the part of the street that's pedestrians-only until September. In the Village (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_Village,_Montreal). :)

31. I love winter squash. Have you had kabocha squash?
I have one now- slightly flattened, dull green with a little gold, slightly warty, pumpkin-looking, 2 1/2 lbs. Sweet, kind of dry flesh, like a pale yellow sweet potato. But I like to bake them, and I don't want to heat up the kitchen.
I love maple syrup, too, but kabocha squash is sweet and flavorful enough w/o it.

15. A Martini. Later, I might have a salad. Or another Martini.
Not decided yet, and my fridge is pretty bare after my 10 days in the wilds - I've not restocked since coming home.

20. What the hell is 'pipian' verde sauce? Sheesh...
either people here are eating biscuits and gravy or some schmancy, pretentious fare. No offense to you, please.

Me? Leftovers. Vegetarian chili with whole wheat macaroni stirred in and organic sour cream, salad, and mango yogurt shake.

28. It's a cilantro and chile green sauce with pumpkin seeds. The Spanish name takes less time to type.
It's really not fancy food, it's just not American, just like anything with mangos and yogurt. I'm a cook and I like to try many different world cuisines.

27. My version of French onion soup and a mixed green salad with mustard vinaigrette.
Used up scraps of bread from the freezer and added a little of the Beaujolais we are drinking to the broth. Also used up three different cut onions. And it turned out good!
