Kodachrome is history
My vote for the best consumer product ever made. I have thousands of Kodachrome slides taken by my grandfather starting when Kodachrome first came out, and having been kept in dark all these years, they are still just as vibrant as if they were taken yesterday. And the ultra-fine grain of Kodachrome 25 is nearly indistinguishable.

Despite having by a hit song by Paul Simon and a state park in Utah named after it, Kodachrome is now officially part of the past. Kodak announced it is discontinuing the manufacture of Kodachrome after 74 years of production. At least the world has been recorded for posterity in the brilliant colors and fine detail of the best film of the film era.

1. Kodachrome, they give us those nice bright colours
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah
