Fox behavior question....
Is it normal for a fox to be cruising my yard at 930 on a Sunday morning with a dead squirrel in his mouth?

6. I used to have four that would visit my yard at night.

I put out cat food and dinner scraps for the strays and dislocated wildlife (foxes, raccoons, possums). People frown upon it but with the development in the area they either starve or become road kill.

p.s. if the fox runs AT you that is a cause for concern. :hi:

7. thanks.
we have coyotes and foxes around here. i am basically surrounded by woods. i did have a coyote in the yard during the winter and that was spooky since my rat terriers wanted at it, and i knew they would make a delicious treat.

:hi:

4. i feel better about that....
People have always told me that if they come out during the day, there might be a problem.

Poor squirrel.

5. I thought so too.
It was coming really close to our house and I was worried about the boys, but everyone seemed to think it was ok for it to be out. It wasn't staggering around or anything acting like it would if it had rabies. We once had a skunk come around that was rabid and animal control had to come out. :(

10. I've seen bunnies this morning too
:hi:

But then again, I pretty much live in the woods, so all the critters visit my yard at one point or another

11. We get a lot of bunnies.
Some deer, lots of birds and squirrels. There are some foxes a few miles from me. They're cute! :)

9. Very strange. Krauthammer usually doesn't come on until 10:00.

12. I used to have a fox that hung out in my yard
... with the kitties. She never bothered them. I think she had been domesticated at one time. But mostly during the day, she snoozed as did the kitties.
