Jackson Browne is on PBS. And I remember you all liked Todd too. What a great generation you all are.

7. PBS programming
differs from region to region.

Here in the DC area, there's something about economics on WETA right now.

But, someone just showed me this, speaking of Mr. Browne:

I had to listen to that damn "Can We Still Be Friends" song about 1000 times on WMMS before she'd let me kiss her...

Saw some great bands there, but I probably spent more time downstairs at The Pop Shop in the early 80's, too...

24. Saw Bowie at the Agora, along with Iggy Pop.
Rode in Hank LaConti's Rolls once, with a few of my pals.

Long story.

Spent a lot of time and money in the old place, and was worth every cent.

32. "old soul" - JB, or Todd
Don't know much Todd Rundgren at all, but LOVE JB - he has written some really amazing stuff, some of it starting at the age of 16 or 17, which would certainly fit with your "old soul in a young man's body" characterization.

25. He played the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz.
One of my guilty pleasures is The Wizard of Oz In Concert (1995).

Dorothy played by Jewel
Scarecrow played by Jackson Browne
Tin Man played by Roger Daltrey
Cowardly Lion played by Nathan Lane
Wicked Witch played by Debra Winger
The Wizard played by Joel Grey
Glinda played by Natalie Cole

They are all great, especially Jackson Browne.

The one exception from JB is that song about alternative energy sources, I think it's called Warm Power of the Sun.

34. There was a book that came out in the early '80's titled "Real men don't eat quiche" in which....
the topic of what kind of music a real man listens to is addressed.

Paraphrasing, it went something like this;

"Real men don't listen to Jackson Browne because no real man wants to listen to a prima donna, millionaire, no talent asshole complain about how tough his life is on the road."

I think he and the guys from the Eagles either shared a house or lived next door to each other in the early 70's. He gave them that song. The rest is history.
