2. First you have to go to your roof and scream "God is Great". Then you get shot at.
Look, I don't claim to understand this "rave" business the kids are into these days, but according to CNN, that's how it's done.

3. some thoughts
Hi,
I know a lot of people are ambivalent about it or ridicule it, but I kind of enjoy it. The Iran stuff is just blasting through there. My suggestion is to find people that interest you that you want to follow. Some post a lot more than others. Rachel Maddow rarely posts, Lance Armstrong posts a ton, some mundane, some I find quite inspiring. Russ Feingold rarely posts. I find NASA astronauts are fascinating to follow also. After you find people to follow, see who they are following and you might find others of interest. Sorry for the rambling response, feel free to pm me if you need help finding anyone I mentioned.

Peace

5. Also, just search by topic. I checked "prius", "science", etc. and found a lot.
I think the common misunderstanding is that it's a way to follow celebs, or to chat with just friends, but the whole new potential in activism and breaking news is unexpectedly powerful.

Just type in riots, or Iran, or CIA, or whatever, and see what happens!

Peace back to you!

Edited on Sun Jun-21-09 12:05 AM by hibbing
Hi,
Thanks for that info, I can't quite figure out the following of the people and the list on the right hand side. My 3rd Dumb Question of the Night: Where do you type the subject in at exactly? What are the # things? Do you have to include the # if you are searching for topics?

Sorry to hijack your thread!

Peace

8. Here you go... go to this link first:
Edited on Sun Jun-21-09 12:20 AM by NYC_SKP
And I'll explain.
Go here:

http://twitter.com/#search?q=%23demund

That's the search result if you type in "#demund" into the search box on the right.

If you want to save that search, look for the green circle with + sign in it to the right of "Real-time results for #demund", and click on it.

Once you do this it will appear under your "saved searches" under the search box.

Lesson 2:

In the messages, you'll see the poster's name in red, then a message, and usually one or two other thinks in red starting with the "#" sign. These are tweets written to go into any twitter thread with that name. You could include, for example, #whitehouse, #CNNfail, and #iranelection, and your message would go to all three feeds.

If you want to write something that will appear in the demund feed, type the message in your "What are you doing? box, but include "#demund" to make it appear in the "demund" feed.

Try it, let me know if it works.

Hi,
Thanks for this info, I will check it out. How the heck are they paying for all the server space and whatever? Who will buy it and ruin it? Yahoo? Google? MS?

I appreciate your helpfulness.

Peace

16. As NYC_SKP has pointed out, the #demund term (aka DU)
is for DUers to check in and say hello to other DUers on twitter (dem und = democratic underground)

When you add #demund to your message, it goes to the page that shows all the DU twitterers (we just started doing this yesterday so not so many yet)

:hi:
