I just saw the movie Year One...
Holy shit was that sacrilegious. Fortunately I'm strong agnostic.

But for some reason I was just expecting a bolt of lightening to smite the shit out of me when I left the theater.

Has anyone else seen it?

1. No, but I was amused that my 14-year-old son put himself on the waiting list
for Religulous at the library. He was a hundred-and-something on the list when he requested it, just got an email today to pick it up.
I'll have to read about Year One , though I vaguely recall hearing a review on the radio.

2. A group of teens, who must have been religious, got up and walked out.
It was pretty bad.

3. Also, religulous was pretty damn good.
Good for your 14 year for watching it.

I was a hyper-conservative evangelical christian at 14. If that is even really possible.

4. Did you think it was funny?
I had that movie pegged as a real snorefest because the promos are not funny at all and usually they put the funniest bits from a comedy movie in the promos. But now it sounds like there's a chance that they left the funny bits out because some people might find them offensive. So what's the story?

5. The promos look lame
Michael Cera looks really annoying in that movie. Was it funny?

6. George Michael?
It does look like a dud to me. I hope Michael Cera is back as George Michael in the Arrested Development movie.

8. I'd say there were funny parts and incredibly lame parts.
But I had an issue with an underlying tone of homophobia. Although maybe I was being overly sensitive.

It might be wise to wait for it to come out on rental.

7. Seriously?
Well hot damn!

I'm jumping in the shower and heading out to catch the matinee!
