Hate me - but John Entwistle Was A fucking Genius,

I am no genius when it comes to music. Just an observer... but when Jon Entwistle died, a bit of rock and roll died with him.

He was the bass player for the "Who" - he changed how that instrument was played and how musicians viewed it.

John Entwistle was an amazing human being and he gave rock and roll a fucking gift.

2. Entwistle is why I play bass.

He was a lead bassist, and Townshend played rhythm. With Moon they had the most relentless rhythm section in existence.

Yay for this.

I heard him.
If you can find a copy of "The Who Live At Leeds", you will hear some incredible musicianship and inventive genius on the electric bass.

Jack Cassady, Jack Bruce and several others contributed to the development of this instrument, but Entwhistle was a real genius.

That guy was a genius. He almost gave up playing in Led Zeppelin to be a Chorale Director at some major university.
