Los Angeles - Legendary vocal group The Letterman, whose career spans almost five decades, held a press conference earlier today to address the backlash over the jokes they made about Sarah Palin and her daughter.

"We didn't make a joke about Governor Palin or her daughter. You have us confused with late night talk show host David Letterman."

When asked about Palin's assertion that The Lettermen should not be allowed around young women, founding member Tony Batula replied "We didn't make a joke about Governor Palin or her daughter. You have us confused with late night talk show host David Letterman."

When confronted over the media's demand for their firing, band member Donovan Tea replied ""We didn't make a joke about Governor Palin or her daughter. You have us confused with late night talk show host David Letterman."
