I am discouraged!

I met Mr. Wonderfu* on Thursday night - I thought there was a connection, etc. and it turns out there was.... his gir*friend wanted me and so was encouraging him to get c*ose. I was under the impression he was interested! I didn't even *ook at here because she is not my type in the s*ightest.

I hate the dating scene! Hate it!

On the upside, my daughter is going to be an MC at the gay pride event in downtown Bangor today. I am SO PROUD of her and can't wait to join the party.

If I recall correctly, you're newly divorced, right? I remember posting to you about it, and offering you what I've learned in my long life, on both sides of the divorce desk.

For at least two years after a divorce, you will not make smart decisions regarding relationships. You need time to heal and time to get to know yourself - you're a different person than you were pre-divorce - and to make sure you've got yourself together before you can successfully get involved with a man.

This gaffe, which is also very funny, is a sign from the universe. Forget looking for "connections" - that's just shorthand for some folks for "I'm desperate and I will fool myself into believing there's something there when there's nothing there."

Stick with your friends, learn to take good care of yourself, and a man will come along when you're ready. A good man. Right now, you're operating out of a place that's not entirely solid.
