My new Tattoo
I lost my mom 4 years ago, and I've been thinking about getting something commemorative. I have a book that mom gave me for Christmas one year. Inside the book she wrote the following inscription.

Christmas 1998

To my precious daughter,

When you are tired, lonely, afraid or sad, just look behind you. You'll find me there...

Time after Time.

I am so very proud of you and love you more than words can tell.

Love,
Mom

I had the artist take a tracing of where she wrote "Time after Time."

Time after Time by Cindi Lauper was "our" song.

Now she's with me every step.

2. That is so beautiful
It never occurred to me to have the actual tracing done of an important inscription, and it is just beautiful.

I am so sorry about your mom. This is a really lovely tribute.

6. Thank You
We were so incredibly close, it still catches me by surprise at times when I remember she's gone.

7. I think she would have too
I got my first tattoo right after turning 18. She liked it so much that she went out and got one too. :D

4. I would be too afraid of kicking the tatoo artist
That spot is ridiculously sensitive for me.

What a beautiful thing to do btw.

8. Thanks
The first few seconds hurt, then those wonderful endorphins kicked in and the rest was a breeze. It only took about 10 minutes total.

5. That's wonderful!
Did it tickle? (I mean no disrespect, I just don't think I could keep my foot still.)
I have already told my children that I intend to watch out for them in every way I can ... in the hereafter as well. I hope it works for them.

9. No tickling
just a bit of stinging.

I like to think mom is still watching out for me too.

Very, very nice.
