1. My cat was on that when it was involved in the first food recall and it fucked him up bad
He used to be able to eat EVERYTHING and be fine. Now, he has IBS and only a few foods don't make him sick, like EVO.

2. I don't recall ever seeing that brand.
It's been a while since I had a cat.

4. Evo is a food based on the raw-food diet
They don't sell it in supermarkets. It's pricey, but cheaper than the prescription food, which is his alternative. The prescription food also has a lot of fillers and made him fat.

7. Do you get it online or from your vet?
I have 3 dogs plus a foster dog (I'm keeping a seabees dog until the seabee can move off base and keep her.)

I'm sorry your cat suffered from the tainted catfood. My yorkie was hospitalized for days because of the tainted dog food. It is never easy when the furry friends are sick.

8. We get it at a local pet store
They sell it online, too. They also make Innova which is a lower protein version of EVO. We also had our dog, Mick, on the EVO dry, until we got Beag. She has food allergies, so we switched them over to Taste of the Wild duck. It's also based on the raw food diet, but we can get it duck-based. Her digestive system can't handle red meat.

Good for taking in a foster dog, both my dogs are Border Collie rescues. And you're right, it sucks when pets are sick.

9. thank you for the links
It appears I'd have to order online.

I hate the idea that service members have to put their pet up for adoption because they can't have them on base or they are being deployed. Its just another furry friend, though I have become attached to Chloe and will miss her when her owner finally can live off base.

3. So sorry to hear that. Hugs to your kitty!
They're so innocent, and can't tell us that their food has been spoiled by greedy humans- or read the recalls. I'm glad you were able to pull him off the affected food, and that he's ok other than the IBS.

5. Yeah, he's fine other than that
We got lucky.

My friend lost their cat due to tainted Iams during the recall. The saddest part about that was they were feeding their cat a really cheap food that wasn't affected by the recall, and had switched to Iams to feed her something healthier.

A couple pictures of my Ginsberg:

And, here he is as a little baby.

6. I stopped using Nutro when I found out the CEO was a major Bush supporter
They eat Royal Canin now and Trader Joe's wet food.
