It's well east of where I am, but damn if it didn't scare me for a couple of minutes. You can see the clouds to the east look pretty nasty and there's a lot of weird shapes. Thank the Gods it's pretty far away. :scared:
1. when we get those warnings, I grab a police scanner and camcorder
the police scanner is a great tool because you can hear police and firemen acting as spotters and dispatch gives headsup warnings. The camcorder is in the event that I get to see something kewl. I have gotten video of trees snapping and twisting out of the ground in the past.
Also be sure to put on good shoes when the warning siren goes out, in the event that you have to bail
It was reported about 15 miles SE of where I am as the crow flies, moving east. Apparently, it formed about 20 miles north of Denver. There's a lot of people living near that area... Hopefully it dissipates soon.
