Poll question: D'oh! A dear friend just joined an anti-choice group on Facebook.
Right after I sent her an article for her new e-zine (not related to politics), no less. And right after Dr. Tiller's murder to boot! :eyes:

Now what do I do? Bear in mind I have fancied this woman since she was 17! But, I cut my progressive feminist teeth defending clinics in NOLA in the early '90s...

2. Well assuming that she is more than likely dead to you
why not take a shot at trying to get her to see the light. Worse case she gets pissed off and you are back to what you would have had to do anyway.

4. agree to disagree, shes been your friend a long time, its not always about what you believe
we can be friends with people we vehemently disagree with at times.

5. Maybe find out why she joined at this particular time?
Abortion is a heated and contentious issue, but if she's a "dear friend" you might be able to discuss it maturely with her.

If she's a radical anti-choice zealot, then I'd join a pro-choice facebook group so she gets to look at it every time she checks out your profile and leave it at that.

6. I doubt very much the timing is anything but an unfortunate coincidence
a) she is a gentle soul who loves cats and wouldn't hurt a fly.

b) she has a significant disability which would render her unable to murder any doctors in any event.
