The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
A beautiful movie, in the tradition of Forrest Gump.

I loved it.

I loved the characters it created.

2. I Liked It 100 Times Better Than "Slumdog" Myself
It got robbed out of Best Picture IMHO.

4. I loved both movies, but for different reasons
I wish they could have both gotten the best picture award.

They were both beautiful works of art.

I loved it, and my wife asked me to make a copy.

There is no higher praise.

5. We were surprised how much we enjoyed it.
Mr. Gut isn’t too tolerant of crap, so I was hesitant to rent it. But it was well done, and we both enjoyed it. I know the critics said it was a revamped Forest Gump, but I didn’t see that.

6. We rented it, despite the bad reviews
and glad we did.

Reviewers are morans.

7. David Fincher is one of my favorite living directors. I was surprised he
took on this project.

It's interesting to see a thread on this film. I've not seen the film because the premise doesn't interest me. But I should probably check it out.

Brad Pitt can act, but it's really hit or miss. He will do great in "Thelma and Louise" and "Se7en," but he can be horrible in the "Ocean's..." films, and that piece of shit he made with his wife Angelina Jolie, "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."

8. Suspend your disbelief
accept the premise, and it becomes a beautiful, human, story.

Full of love and redemption.

10. One of the streetcar scenes had to have been filmed on my old street!
S. Carrollton Ave., to be precise: NOLA streetcars only run on St. Charles Ave. (and Carondelet St. in the CBD), Canal St., along the riverfront -- and on Carrollton from St. Charles at the Riverbend up to Claiborne. The scene in question clearly wasn't on St. Charles or Canal, so, by process of elimination, it had to be down the street from me (20 years ago)!!

11. Did the actors do a good job with the accents?
I'm curious.

Not being a NOLA native, I'm not sure how close Brad Pit and the other actors came to nailing a true New Orleans accent.

13. Brad got it done
Edited on Sun May-31-09 07:53 PM by KamaAina
only the minor players at the beginning and end were supposed to have one.

Of course, Brad's spent a lot of time "making it rigt" in Lower Nine, and he and Ang have the place in the lower Quarter (I and everyone else know the exact address :P ), so he's kind of a ringer.

edit: Freudian typo: "Bard" for Brad!

14. Accents are so important to suspending disbelief...
I got drawn into the story.

For the duration of the movie, which in relative time was a lifetime, I became Benjamin Button.

I can think of no higher praise for any movie.

It was so sad to see the waters of Katrina move in...

I still get a lump in my throat just thinking about it.

16. I saw it and was pleasantly surprised
An excellent movie. The best part is the special effects didn't get in the way of the story.
